Happy Thursday!

Note Card Box

Below is the project tutorial for the notecards and gift box pictured above.

I've seen many tutorials for boxes and tried most of them, and by far, I think this one is the easiest…here it is…

For the box bottom:

  • Cut cardstock into a 7" square
  • Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, score at 1 3/4" on all four sides  (see below)…if you look closely you can see the score lines on all sides of the square.

  • Fold inward on the score lines;  set each fold with your bone folder (see below)…
  • Cut each corner tab as shown below…you will have four corner cuts.

  • Adhere each end of the cut corner to the INSIDE of the flap with sticky strip, the inside of your box will look like this  (see below)…

  • The outside of your box will look like this (see below)….

You now have your box bottom.  For the box top, follow the instructions above, but use the measurements as follows:

For the Box Top:

  • Cut your cardstock into a 5 5/8" Square;
  • Score at 1" on all four sides;
  • Fold your scored sides INWARD and set with your bone folder;
  • Cut each corner tab toward the center;
  • Adhere each end of the corners to the INSIDE of the flap with sticky strip.

See below for Box Bottom and Top

The Box Bottom is deeper than the top.  This Note Card Box will hold from four to six 3" X 3" note cards (with dimensionals/embellishments)  and envelopes very comfortably.

Note Card Box

The note cards featured here were cut 6" X 3"; scored at 3", folded and set with bone folder.

Here are the measurements for the paper ribbon on the box:

  • Cut 2 11" by 1 1/8" strips for the ribbon;
  • Cut 1 8" X 1 1/8" strip Designer Series Paper for the bottom layer of the bow;
  • Cut 1 6" X 1 1/8" strip DSP for the top layer of the bow;
  • Cut 1 4" X 1 1/8" strip DSP for the center bow tie.

Stampin' Up! Supplies used:

  • For the box, I used Naturals Ivory Cardstock, (#101849 on p. 160 in the 2012-2013 Catalog)
  • For the bow, I used Gumball Green Designer Series Paper, (#126910, p. 152 in the 2012-2013 Catalog)
  • For the notecards, Brushed Gold Cardstock, (#102935, p. 160) and Very Vanilla Cardstock (#101650, p. 156)
  • The stamp set is Delightful Decorations (p. 10), and Fabulous Phrases (p. 133)
  • Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green Ink Pads
  • Designer Pearls
  • Ornament Punch

They are not pictured here, but the cards fit perfectly into Stampin' Up!'s 3 1/8" X 3 1/8" square envelopes.  (p. 160)

Hope you enjoy, and…remember…
