Hurricane Sandy clobbered us here in the Northeast last week. The area I live was without electricity for almost a week…I personally am very blessed and thankful that I can begin to move forward again, but there are still so many who cannot.  Please keep all those people in your good thoughts in hopes that they can begin to move safely toward rebuilding their lives.

Lovely as a Tree

I am so very happy to get back to my paper crafting and blogging again. I missed my card making and missed my Stampin' Up! Pals Group.

I was looking through my stamps to get some inspiration for a card today, and my "Lovely As A Tree" stamp set was calling my name!  I've worked with this set many times in the past, but never embossed with it, so here it is.

The delicate lines of the tree branches are so beautiful in this stamp, I have to say it's one of my all time favorites!  Here's how I did it:

  • I first ran my "Embossing Buddy" across my card stock; this helps you get a nice detailed embossed image by preventing unwanted dots of embossing powder to land anywhere but your image;
  • Stamp the image onto Very Vanilla cardstock using Versa Mark watermark ink;
  • Sprinkle Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder over the image and tap any loose powder off; Just a little hint…you can use your blender pen to gently and carefully clean any stray powder near your image.
  • Use your Heat Tool to heat your image…you will see the image change from powder to (in this case) glimmery copper!
  • Mat your image using Chocolate Chip cardstock.

This card took about 15 minutes from start to finish.  Quick, Easy, and I think, Very Pretty!

Here are the Stampin' Up Supplies used all from the 2012-2013 Catalog.
