Today, one of the ladies from my Stampin' Pretty Pals Group asked if any of us would like to help her soon-to-be 9 year old son celebrate his birthday.  He loves to get the mail when he gets home from school and she thought it would be a great idea if the mailbox were filled with cards. I decided to make this card today to help him celebrate. The card is on its way!

The deep hues of Midnight Muse and Raspberry Rippple are such a beautiful contrast against the Whisper White.  I stamped the birthday cake in Raspberry Ripple and the flag cake topper in Midnight Muse.  For a little more color in the flags, I used my blender pen and Raspberry Ripple ink pad.  I also used my Blender Pen and Midnight Muse ink pad to tap a few dots onto the Whisper White circle…I thought it needed a little "lift"!  The "Happy Birthday" stamp from "Sassy Salutations" really is Sassy!

Just a little tip:  Make sure your ink pad is closed tightly then gently squeeze the center of the closed pad (very gently).  Now open the ink pad and you'll have a little bit of ink on the top flap of the ink pad. Tap your blender pen into the color on the top flap and transfer the color to your stamped image.  This works great if you want to just add a little detail color.

All supplies used are from Stampin' Up!'s 2012-2013 Catalog:
