Today, I found my inspiration from one of the Galleries I visit. There was a black and yellow card…a little more "Vintage" and embellished than this one, but nonetheless, the colors caught my eye, and the overall design was very flattering.
I haven't used polka dots in a while, and I really do love creating with them, so I decided to go all out and use both Basic Black and Summer Starfruit Polka Dot Designer Series Paper.
I love polka dot banners, so I started hand cropping some banners, cut a large rectangle to anchor the card, and added a mat for my sentiment.
Once I laid everything out and chose my sentiment, I thought the card needed something else. It seemed the large Faceted Vintage Button gave my sentiment more balance…and the paper piercing on my sentiment mat added a nice element, but it still wasn't enough. The pearls were just what it needed!
Joanne is the designer of my inspiration card, but she didn't have a blog or a last name that I could reference here, so Joanne, if you ever come across this blog post, thank you for your inspiration!
Be sure to check back tomorrow when I will take another "Walk Back In Time" and showcase some of my special cards from the 2001-2002 Stampin' Up! Catalog.
