This is a bit different from my usual. I really wanted to use my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and wanted to create something "Quick & Easy", but nothing was coming to me tonight.
I inked up one of the stamps from the set and just started playing with some color. I was inking the stamp with different colors on some scrap paper which led to this design.
Then I thought about the "color" facts I learned a few months back which led to choosing these colors. Here's Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango…all with the same color saturation (intensity), and adjacent and complementary (opposite) on the color wheel. I knew they would work.
Since black has no color, I knew I could easily use black within my Sweet Spot and as an embellishment. A neutral color with similar saturation would work also, but I wanted to go with the black. Modern Medley Designer Series Paper was perfect. I chose the stripe and cropped the frame with Oval Framelits. To tone down the Very Vanilla in the stripe, I used Stampin' Up!'s new Stampin' Chalk Marker.
I chose my sentiment based on size…"Smile" from the Happy Day stamp set was a perfect fit for my oval frame. Two Crushed Curry Candy Dots added the perfect finish.
A while back I wrote a series of posts with some card design tips. I covered a lot of topics to make card designing easy, but never spoke about "Movement and Flow".
Wow! This would be a perfect card to illustrate "movement"!

Oh I have GOT to try that with the grunge stamp – love it!
Glad to have you back. Hope the wedding was everything you expected and more!!
I am crazy-in-love with this card, and I am FAR from a CAS kind of girl. This GG stamp set has my heart singing with all the “more messy” stuff we can make with it–who knew I’d love such a clean-lined creation made from it? Excellent job!
