It's time for another Paper Players Color Challenge! Wow! I think LeAnne knocked this one "out of the park"! I just love these colors….Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Basic Black! Elegant, as LeAnne says, but also bold and contemporary.
I took the Clean and Simple and Bold and Contemporary approach. Yep, I was challenged…should I go vintage, bold, or somewhere in between?
As soon as I saw these colors, I knew I was using my Rich Razzelberry Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper and I was going with lots of Whisper White. This was going to be a Clean and Simple card, no doubt about that!
- I started embossing and sanding some Pool Party Core'dinations Card Stock, but for me, sanding just wasn't working with the Rich Razzleberry Polka Dots…so out came my Circles Collection Framelits and I gave my Big Shot a good work-out cropping lots of different circles. Polka Dots and Circles, right?
- It didn't stop there, I pulled out my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and created more circles…round and round I went…had to round the corner with my corner round punch.
- The "Miss You" sentiment from Really Good Greetings was a perfect fit for my Whisper White circle, so that was the one. (I wasn't about to give up that circle..not at all).
- A little Rich Razzleberry 1/8" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon is the perfect "Sweet Spot" anchor and the Pool Party Designer Button was just what I needed for some color balance…even more circles in the button!
- The button knot is Whisper White Bakers Twine dyed Rich Razzleberry. (I did that by rolling the twine on top of my ink pad). Fun, but inky fingers for sure…if you try it, wear gloves :). (You could also use the brush tip of your Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the Baker's Twine or you can spritz the twine with Stampin' Up's Color Spritzer). The twine had to be Rich Razzleberry for some more color balance.
Thanks, LeAnne…I had lots of fun with this one and it's been a long time since I really had inky, inky fingers!
Thanks for stopping by today, and lots of stampin' fun to you!
I just love this, Deb! Contemporary, fresh & bold….you used the colors in just the right proportions for your lovely CAS card! I really like how the Pool Party peeks out from the rounded corner, and of course, polka dots are always in style to me! Thanks for using my colors in such a great way!
So sweet, d\Debbie! I love the repeating polka-dot element, and I’m a sucker for polka dots. Great use of the colors. Thanks for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players!
Love all that white space with such bold colors! Fabulous card!
Great card, Debbie! Love the repetition of dots and circles and the way you’ve used Pool Party as an accent colors. So glad you joined us again this week at The Paper Players!
