And that's all it is… just a bird for The Paper Players. This week's Challenge, hosted by Jaydee, is "Wildlife". Once again, I was challenged. I really thought about this for two solid days.
I pulled out stamp after stamp and nothing felt right, so I looked around at my punches and there it was, my Bird Builder Punch. This felt right. Birds are part of "wildlife".
Now, I had a vision of what I wanted this card to be. I wanted just the bird… no patterned paper wing, no embellishment for the eye…just the bird. Because my mind was so set on just the bird, I had to work the color… and the color had to be strikingly simple because my card design is so simple.
Baked Brown Sugar would be a predominent color. It's a rich brown with lots of depth. Now I needed a contrasting color that could hold its own with Baked Brown Sugar… Bermuda Bay would be splendid! It has the same rich, deep hue.
I wanted this card to make a simple statement and didn't want to go into another color family, so Pool Party was a natural choice.
My small sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners works well because it doesn't compete with just the bird!
Thank you, Jaydee for this challenging theme, and a very special thank you to you for choosing my card as "A Cut Above" in last week's challenge. It's always fun to play along with all of you and it's even more fun to be showcased in your winner's circle. Can't wait to see what you all have waiting for us next week.
Thanks again, Jaydee!
So, pull out your stamps, ink and punches and create something beautiful!

Debbie – This is absolutely beautiful. I love how the Bermuda Bay background pops underneath the Baked Brown Sugar and then again on top. A beautiful, well-balanced soft and clean card.
Clean and pretty, Debbie! The blues combined with Baked Brown Sugar are a lovely color combination. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players!
I love your CAS creation, Debbie! Great color choices. Thanks for sharing with us this week at The Paper Players and congrats on last week’s win!
