Wow! What great colors the Pals Paper Arts Design Team put together for you in this week's Color Challenge; Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry.
When I first looked at these colors, I thought "Fall"… some rich Autumn leaves with some sort of Thanksgiving design theme.
As you can see, that didn't happen. It just wasn't working for me, so I took these rich, bold colors and came up with a contemporary graphic design. As long as the design was big and bold, the colors would work.
Both the large, negative, Crushed Curry circle and the smaller, positive, Crushed Curry circle bring your eye right to the slightly off-center sentiment banner. That's what they're supposed to do.
So, here's the quick and easy how to:
- Create a standard A-2 card base with Rich Razzleberry and add a layer of Whisper White – 5 1/4" X 4 1/4";
- Cut a layer of Crumb Cake 5" X 4" and place a large Circle Framelit over the top left corner leaving 1 1/4" across the top right corner and 2 1/8" along the bottom left side – now you have the negative image of the cropped circle overlapping the top left corner of your Crumb Cake layer;
- Cut a piece of Crushed Curry card stock 3" X 5", lay it under the negative image of the large circle so that the top and sides align;
- Crop a smaller Crushed Curry circle with the Circle Framelits, place it over the bottom right corner (overlap it), glue it in place, then cut the circle fro the back side to create a clean corner;
- Attach the circled layer to the Whisper White layer using Stampin' Dimensionals;
- Cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock 2 1/8" X 3 5/8";
- Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 3 3/8" X 1 7/8" (which I embossed with my Stripes Embossing Folder – a little difficult to see in the picture) and attach it to the Rich Razzleberry frame.
- Place the rectangle slightly off center to cover the space where the circles meet;
- Create your sentiment banner and add a Rich Razzleberry Designer Button embellished with some Linen Thread to the top left corner.
Quick, easy, and you could experiment with all different color combinations. That'll be fun.
So, get out your inks, stamps and card stock, and create something beautiful to link up with us at the Pals Paper Arts. We all so much enjoy seeing your projects.
Thanks for stopping by today, and as always, if you have any questions about this or any of my posts, always feel free to e-mail me. I'd be happy to hear from you, and happy to help.
