Mojo Kindness

It’s Monday! Time to get some creative Mojo going for the week with the new Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

I really like this sketch but sort of went my own way… just a little. I had to somehow get that big sunburst from Stampin’ Up!’s new “Kinda Eclectic” stamp set into this card.

So, here’s how it went…

I focused on the sunburst (that’s what I call it) from the stamp set and went through all my Designer Series Paper to see what pattern might work with the stamped image… it had to be the simple swatch of Strawberry Slush DSP from Confetti Celebration. It just worked and created an interesting accent.

Next, my fingers got real inky (no kidding, they really were) with some Blackberry Bliss ink for my sunburst. Actually, my daughter came into my stamping room and couldn’t believe the mess… Blackberry Bliss ink all over me and my table. She laughed and said “Mom, a messy table is a creative table”… she’s a school teacher, and I’m sure her classroom is a “creative” one.

Okay, back to the card… I cropped my sunburst with a framelit from the Starburst Framelits Collection and in following the sketch, added a strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock to bring some Blackberry Bliss to the front of the card.

I needed another color so I went with Crushed Curry, a rich warm yellow which was just the right accent for my sentiment banner. The Blackberry Bliss “kindness” sentiment brings even more of that gorgeous color to the front and a few punched butterflies spread around the center of the card gives the sketch a little movement and some more color balance.

So, pull out a stamp you absolutely love, match it to a pretty patterned paper and create something beautiful.
