This week's Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge is trendy for sure! Island Indigo, Crisp Cantaloupe and Wild Wasabi… different!
My biggest challenge was which color to use as my card base. I went with Island Indigo because my sentiment had to pop. I thought if I used Island Indigo for the base, I could also use it for my sentiment… I'd just have to fill in the rest. I found this sketch among some sketches I printed out a while back and very quickly this card came together.
"Work of Art" and "Gorgeous Grunge" are perfect stamp sets to mix together… they both allow you to create some interesting, custom patterned paper. Here, I used Gorgeous Grunge to create my special "DSP" and Work of Art for my sentiment.
I finally used sequins on something and, I love the look. These are Crisp Cantaloupe sequins from the "In Colors 2013-2015 Sequin Assortment" in the Annual Catalog. They're beautifully faceted and easy to pop anywhere with a mini glue dot.
A simple garnish of some Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker's Twine and a touch of paper piercing completed this very simple and quick card.
Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set – 130517
Work of Art Stamp Set – 134114
2013-2015 In Color Sequin Assortment – 133631
Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker's Twine – 135636
You were right the Island Indigo allows your sentiment to Pop! I love the Gorgeous Grunge in the softer colors as well, giving it a watercolored splash effect. The paper piercing was a nice tough to add interest to the solid Island Indigo card stock.
Debbie, I LOVE your card and all its details. Paper piercing, sequins, and GRUNGE!! Very lovely result!!
The frame and those perfectly placed pierces are what make me love this card!
Yep, the stamps work perfectly together! Beautiful card! Thanks for having fun with the PALS this week!
