Here's a birthday wish for this week's Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.
My inspiration for this challenge came from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack's Polka Dots. Love this color combination… Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Sahara Sand.
To be true to the sketch, I chose the silhouette flowers stamp from "A Happy Hooray". The image is long and fit nicely on the banner, the lines are round and curvy; perfect with the patterned paper.
Hello Honey and Sahara Sand in the center of the card help the colors pop from the DSP and for just a bit of texture, I embossed these layers with Stampin' Up!'s new Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder.
For some color balance, I connected my layers with the beautiful new Striped Satin Ribbon in Blackberry Bliss.
My sentiment was an easy choice. "Happy Birthday Wishes" is from Petite Pairs and the fonts work perfectly with the simple style of the card. I used my 1/4" punch for the three circles, just for fun!
Actually, those circles were originally aligned at the bottom….
Then, removed…
But, I liked the circles "floating" at the bottom best of all.
This one was quick and easy once I decided where to put those circles!
Love it, Deb! This is really a beautifully clean card. I was so focused on everything else that I missed the floating dots in the bottom – until you pointed them out. I like all three ways!
So pretty & clean and crisp! I love the the ribbon tying the whole thing together…just the right touch! Thanks for joining us this week at the PPA!
A beautiful card, Debbie!! Really like the use of ribbon to emphasize the separation as per the sketch. So glad you participated in the PPA challenge this week!!
