I created this 4 1/2" square card for this week's Paper Craft Crew Challenge Sketch #124. So, my good thoughts go to the Team at PCCCS 124 for a neat sketch.
When I sat down for this one, I wasn't sure where I wanted to take it and decided to keep it clean and simple with lots of white space. My color inspiration is from Stampin' Up!'s "Flowerpot" Designer Series Paper.
Something about those large Crushed Curry Polka Dots caught my eye and I matched the patterned paper to the large polka dot embossing folder for a little "pattern repeat". The "circle" pattern throughout this card was inspired by the sketch.
I haven't used Marina Mist in a while, so I thought that would be a perfect accent color to the Crushed Curry. A few white opaque sequins and a Whisper White Baker's Twine bow worked perfectly to complete the sketch requirement and add "just enough" to the finished card.
So, crop a banner, try a little "pattern repeat" with your favorite shape and create something smashing!
Another nice card, Debbie!!! Love the colors! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Debbie, I just absolutely love this card with the clean use of white space and the repeat of the circle theme. Thanks so much for playing along with the Paper Craft Crew and we hope to see more of your beautiful creations on a regular basis. Also, congratulations, your card will be included in this weeks Featured Artisan blog post. You can also grab a side banner to include on your blog if you wish to show that you’ve been selected as a Featured Artisan.
I love this sketch and I love this card!
May I ask how you matted your banner? Is that a die?
Hi Cindy. Thanks so much for your kind words. I cropped the banner using SU’s Banner Framlits Dies. Once I had that done, I took the banner and lined up the corner to the corner of a piece of card stock leaving just the little bit of matting that I wanted. Since my corner was lined up, the top and left side of the banner was lined up. I fussy cut the bottom flagged end and right side with my paper snips…very slowly. Hope this helps you, and Happy New Year.
Oh Pam, thank you so very much for your kind words. What a happy surprise to find out I was chosen as a Featured Artisan, especially among the group you had participating. I will definitely be back and by the way, I absolutely love your projects.
