This week, Anne Marie over at The Paper Players is hosting a color challenge. Four colors… Crisp Cantaloupe, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake and So Saffron!
Usually, when I create for a color challenge, I go through past sketches to see what speaks to me. Today, my trusted scrap basket ended my sketch search. There was a negative image of a once cropped Crisp Cantaloupe heart.
- My inspiration arrived, so I trimmed what would be my heart frame and the starting point for this card… a CAS collage card it would be.
- Out came my 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, my Hearts framelits, and my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
- After some cropping and punching, I placed the elements around the heart frame, but this card needed something more…
- I thought a little mix of white would work perfectly, so out came another scrap of DSP from days gone by… the large polka dot patterned paper is from the "Fresh Prints" DSP Stack. It worked so well, I had to use it.
- My bold, Whisper White sentiment is from the "Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies" in the current Occasions Catalog.
- Once all the "collage" elements were in place, I added just a little sparkle and some Linen Thread.
- A simple collage card came to life just "for you"!
So, pull out your punches, add a frame and create something fun!
Oh my, what a fun collage card! A Great way to combine four colors and I love the use of negative space on the large heart–such a fun card! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!
What a fabulous layout! The negative die-cut looks so good with all the other elements on this fun card. Thanks so much for joining us at The Paper Players.
This is just lovely, Debbie! How fortunate that you saved your negative portion of that heart….a great sketch and fun elements! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Paper Players this week!
