Birthday Boy

Here's a fun masculine birthday card for your special birthday boy. Stampin' Up's "Hooray It's Your Day" stamp set was free for all who attended the 2015 Leadership Conference in Orlando this year. It's a simple set with a single balloon, a small star and some great simple sentiments.

The slice of patterned paper is from "Best Year Ever" Designer Series Paper (a free gift from Stampin' Up! during Sale-A-Bration with a $50.00 product purchase) and my color inspiration for this project.

  • Coastal Cabana, Soft Suede and Crushed Curry are beautiful together, but I thought the palette needed some pop of color. I went with Cherry Cobbler, a beautiful warm red.
  • I punched a few gold stars and a tiny circle for a little sparkle and what special birthday boy doesn't deserve a gold star?
  • With the help of my little ruler and my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker, I drew some lines across the top of my card layer to help balance the color and the elements.

So, punch a few gold stars, layer a few shapes and create something wonderful.

Before I end this post, I want to thank Anne Marie Hile, a very talented member of the Design Team over at The Paper Players Challenge Blog. Anne Marie chose my card as a "Cut Above" for last week's Spring Theme Challenge. You can see my original post here, and the card below.
