Thursday is always a good day to see something a little different. At least for me, today’s card is very different from my usual. I don’t remember using a photographed background DSP in any of my projects.
I was looking for inspiration and decided to look through the catalog. Tucked away in a corner on page 42 of Stampin’ Up!’s August-December Mini Catalog is the very beautiful 6 X 6 Specialty Designer Series Paper titled “Feels Like Frost”. I knew I had that patterned paper. It happens to be a returning favorite from last year.
After looking through just a few sheets, I found the star of my show today! Isn’t the very beautiful and very peaceful winter night sky with frost on the tree branches the perfect background for the peaceful Dove of Hope? Now I know why I got this patterned paper last year. I was waiting for the perfect dove to come along.
I’ve always been a big fan of Night of Navy. It pairs perfectly with Whisper White and the beautiful shades of grays in this paper.
I stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy ink and cropped the little olive branch with a piece of Silver Metallic card stock I had in my stash. The three little Silver Metallic Pearls are so subtle, they draw your eye to the sentiment, but don’t take any attention away from that beautiful cropped dove.
So, pull out your Dove of Hope Bundle, find that pretty patterned paper on page 42, add a peaceful sentiment and a little metallic bling and create something different!
The only limitation is your imagination!

Gorgeous! I’ve been working on a card with this dove, but I might as well give up now – no way I can design something as lovely as this.
Thank you Mr. Brian! It’s amazing how you can just look at a piece of paper and get that vision. I know you’re familiar with that… and I think you should post that dove of yours. I’ve never known you to give up!!!
Debbie your creations are always inspiring and spot on. The world needs PEACE and HOPE.
Thanks again for insightful inspirations.
Carmen, thank you so very much! And yes, I agree. We all need to keep peace and hope in our hearts.
