Happy Monday!

Yesterday, I was looking at some of Stampin’ Up!’s new product Sneak Peeks and I ran across a card that became my inspiration for today’s card. I can promise you that Dragonflies are coming our way and they are beautiful.

So, let’s talk about this project. If you enjoy mixing patterns and colors, you will have fun re-creating this card.  Each patterned paper square is 2″.  Of course, I had to add a thin layer but that’s not necessary. You’ll still get the same look.  For the record, the Mossy Meadow square layer is 2 1/8″.  All of the products I used are from the Heartwarming Hugs Suite.

I offset my squares but kept them balanced in the center of the card.  Although the patterns are fun and colorful and there’s a good mix of straight and curved lines, I knew I had to add a good amount of embellishment to the design.

I stamped a few of the mini trees and candy canes and cropped them with the matching dies.  Once I chose my sentiment the thought came to me that, yes pine trees and candy canes are some of what makes the holiday season the most wonderful time of the year, but having an open, loving heart is what it’s all about.

So, I stamped and cropped the little heart in the Warm Hugs stamp set and placed it right in the center of the squares.  Next came the Real Red Braided Linen Trim and a little Bumblebee star from All The Trimmings Embellishments.

The sentiment is stamped with Mossy Meadow ink on a Whisper White tag that I punched using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.  The colors throughout the card are Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz and Real Red. A very festive and traditional color combination.

So, pull out your Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, cut a few squares, embellish and embellish some more, and create something to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

THE ONLY LIMITATION IS YOUR IMAGINATION!
