This week’s challenge over at The Paper Players is a Clean and Simple “Hooray for Holidays” Challenge.  A Clean and Simple card is one with lots of white space and a simple design.

This was one of those cards that I started at the top rather than adding to a card base.  I knew I would use a Whisper White card base to keep in line with Ann’s Challenge.

The Wrapped In Christmas stamp set and the Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper were together on my desk.  Once I saw them, I knew I would use the sentiment medallion from the stamp set so I started there.  The patterned paper gave me my color combination, but it was up to me how to use it and to “balance” the three colors I chose.  I started cutting and adding layers to draw attention to the sentiment medallion.  I was satisfied with the layers, but my card needed a little something more.

The dotted pattern of the Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder worked perfectly with the Classic Christmas patterned paper I chose. Keeping the embossed layer white added just the right amount of interest through its texture to my card base but didn’t take anything away from the simple patterns in the DSP or the holiday colors.

I cropped the two hearts in Cherry Cobbler and added a Gold Metallic Pearl to each heart.

Thanks to Ann and The Paper Players Design Team for your beautiful project inspiration this week.

So, start from the top, add a sentiment, some layers and a few hearts and create something festive.

…the only limitation is your imagination!
