Today’s card was inspired by a sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch #552.  The sketch, along with the layer measurements, is below.

So, let’s talk about this card.

When I saw this sketch, the first thing I noticed was that I would have to come up with a few coordinating pattern paper layers. I adore playing with patterned paper, so I knew I would enjoy playing with this sketch.  I decided to use the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper.  This paper pack is 6″ x 6″ and features quite a few coordinating patterns all inspired by nature.  The Mossy Meadow and Basic White color combination accented with Bumblebee was so striking to me, so I chose these patterns to work into the sketch.

There are times that I see a sketch and use it as a guide.  I take a lot of artistic license with it and do my own thing.  In this case, I stayed pretty close to the sketch dimensions and elements.

The Bumblebee die cut images you see are from the coordinating Dandy Wishes Dies.  I used one die, cut three images from it and tied them together with a white twine bow.  I hand cropped the flagged sentiment banner and stamped the Best Wishes sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.  The sentiment stamp is from the Art Gallery stamp set.  The sentiment font from this stamp set is classic.  I’ve used each and every sentiment from Art Gallery time and again and you will, too.

I added a small Bumblebee embellishment to the sentiment banner to help balance the color by bringing a bit of Bumblebee to the right side of the card.

So, grab some coordinating patterned paper, add a circle, add a sentiment and create something fun.

…the only limitation is your imagination!
