It’s Sunday and time for another Paper Players Challenge. This week, LeAnne is hosting the CAS (Clean and Simple) Challenge with a little Feline Fine twist.
When creating a Clean and Simple card, always keep in mind that you should have lots of white space with minimal layers and little or no embellishments.
My card today is a simple A-2 Basic White card base with a single black and white patterned paper layer. The focal point, of course, is a fussy cut cat. He wants to be your friend and wants to share his ball of yarn with you.
I attached my cat friend to a 2″ punched Basic Black circle to help make him the star of this card. I went back into my archives for the sentiment. It’s from a retired stamp set called Bella & Friends and I thought it worked perfectly with the cat image.
The sentiment layer is attached to a coordinating strip of patterned paper from the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper pack. I added the sentiment to a small strip of Basic Black cardstock to give it some depth. I couldn’t resist fussy cutting the yarn from the DSP. I thought the bit of red would add a little pop of color to this CAS design.
So, pull out your feline friends’ stamps and dies, add just a little pop of color and create something Clean and Simple to link up with us over at the Paper Players.
…the only inspiration is your imagination!

Adorable, Debbie! The black circle really “pops” against the print. The sentiment is “purrfect”! Have a wonderful week!
Thank you, Ann. I had fun with this challenge.
The text makes a great background for that fun cat!
Thank you, Julia. That DSP is great for a CAS card. I agree with you.
This is so adorable. I just love that paper background!!
Thanks, Laurie.
This is adorable….I love these papers and that sly-looking kitty looks very smug! The sentiment and little ball of yarn are perfect accompaniments too! Thanks for rocking my challenge, even if you had to make two cards…no harm in that, right?!
So cute! I love that background paper and your pops of pink! Great design! Have a good week!
Such a great job with this CAS challenge Debbie! Love the text background and your layered greeting! Bringing one more spool of yarn to the bottom really makes the eye move around the card! Great job! Have a nice week!
This is so cute Debbie and this sentiment works perfectly (off to hunt mine out from the back of the shelf…) Love your cute feline and the layering underthe sentiment strip too. A great card!
Absolutely gorgeous card congrats
I loved the kitty cat
Have a great day
Debbie, I thought this suite might get a work out this week! I love how you layered the strips under the sentiment and added the little ball of yarn on both the sentiment and your focal point.
