It’s Saturday, and I hope you all can set aside some time for stamping fun this weekend.

This week was a busy week for me, but I did manage to spend time in my craft room.  The Flower and Field Designer Series Paper was sitting at the top of my newer DSP.  I looked at it and thought about doing something with it, but didn’t because I had other ideas I wanted to work on.  It was crazy, I couldn’t get this pattern out of my head.  It’s as if it was saying, “pay attention to me!!”  I looked at the paper and saw black, white, red and yellow.  By the way, this DSP is FREE with a $50 product purchase during Sale-A-Bration.

Most of my cards are top fold A-2 card bases, so out came my Basic White.  After that, I automatically cut a Basic Black thin layer and cut the patterned paper layer.  Now what?  I kept looking at the flowers on the paper.  I finally decided to cut the large poppy from the Poppy Moments dies and then my card began to take on a life of its own.  Real Red, Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow on Basic Black make a dramatic color combination, all inspired by the patterned paper.

The sentiment is from the Art Gallery stamp set.  The sentiments in this set are favorites of mine.  I think the size and clean lines of the font are so classic.  I had a little fun with this and added a few resin dots.

Maybe, after looking at this Designer Series Paper all week, it was just trying to tell me to have some fun, and I did!!

So, pay attention to that patterned paper that’s on top of your paper stash, look at the colors and let your next project take on a life of its own.

…the only limitation is your imagination!
