While snow is all around me, I’m thinking Spring and ready for some warmer weather. I’ve noticed that the days are beginning to get a bit longer so it won’t be too long before flowers start to bloom.
This brings me to my card today. I wanted to test my creativity and imagination. What could I come up with using a mix of supplies?
From the first time I opened the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper, I knew I would use this pattern for something and today was the day.
The Misty Moonlight and Basic White striped patterned paper would be my card layer. It was too pretty to attach to a cardstock layer, so I covered the entire front of my card base with it. I fussy cut a few of the floral images from the True Love Designer Series Paper and added some color to them with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend. My original design had two flowers. The design didn’t seem right to me, though. It wasn’t until I finished my card that I added the third small bloom. For a quick minute, I forgot about the design “rule of thirds”.
The flower stem die from the Pierced Blooms Dies was perfect for my Old Olive cardstock stems.
The sentiment had to be large and bold enough for the patterned paper. I found the perfect “thank you” in the Happy Thoughts stamp set and stamped it with Misty Moonlight ink.
I scattered a few white resin dots in the center of my design to bring all of my elements together.
As much as I enjoy creating cards with coordinating stamps, dies and patterned paper, it is fun to take a look at what you have and mix it up a bit.
So, take a look at what you have, mix and match your supplies, and create something fun!
…the only limitation is your imagination!
