It’s Sunday! That means there’s new inspiration from the Design Team over at the Paper Players challenge blog. Jaydee has a fun Sketch Challenge for us this week.
Sketch challenges are an easy way to create a card with just about anything you already have in your supply archives. Or use some of those new supplies you’ve been wanting to try. I will usually stay pretty close to a sketch design. Today I went a bit off the grid and had fun with it.
My card is a spring into summer bright color mix of whimsical hand drawn blossoms. I stamped the flowers with one of the images from the Color & Contour stamp set. Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya work nicely with two favorites, Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight.
- I cut a Bumblebee card base standard A-2 card base cut 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″.
- The Bumblebee and Basic White striped layer (from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper) is cut 5 1/4″ x 4″.
- There’s a 2″ x 4″ Basic White layer added to the bottom of the striped layer.
- I stamped the sentiment to the bottom right corner with Misty Moonlight ink.
- I moved my die cut flowers around the bottom of the card.
- Once I knew where I wanted my flowers, I stamped the leaf image above the sentiment with Soft Succulent ink.
- I attached the flowers with Dimensionals.

I love all the bright colors you used on your card! The flowers are open enough to be light and airy, but still showcase those fun shades! LOVE the DSP too!

I love those bright florals Debbie, they remind me of a firework the way tye petals ‘burst’ from the centre – and the vibrant yellow and white stripes make for a perfect background. Just lovely!
