It’s Sunday!  That means there’s new inspiration from the Design Team over at the Paper Players challenge blog.  Jaydee has a fun Sketch Challenge for us this week.

Sketch challenges are an easy way to create a card with just about anything you already have in your supply archives. Or use some of those new supplies you’ve been wanting to try.  I will usually stay pretty close to a sketch design.  Today I went a bit off the grid and had fun with it.

My card is a spring into summer bright color mix of whimsical hand drawn blossoms.  I stamped the flowers with one of the images from the Color & Contour stamp set.  Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya work nicely with two favorites, Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight.

  • I cut a Bumblebee card base standard A-2 card base cut 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″.
  • The Bumblebee and Basic White striped layer (from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper) is cut 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  • There’s a 2″ x 4″ Basic White layer added to the bottom of the striped layer.
  • I stamped the sentiment to the bottom right corner with Misty Moonlight ink.
  • I moved my die cut flowers around the bottom of the card.
  • Once I knew where I wanted my flowers, I stamped the leaf image above the sentiment with Soft Succulent ink.
  • I attached the flowers with Dimensionals.

So, let this week’s sketch inspire you to go through your supplies and create something to link up with us over at the Paper Players.  We always love to see your creations.

…the only limitation is your imagination!
