Happy Sunday!
This week at the Paper Players, Joanne has a Theme Challenge for us. “Beside the Seaside” is one of my favorite places to be. The salt air, sand, the sounds of the seagulls, and the tranquility of the ocean all come to mind when I think of the beach. My favorite time on the beach is during the months of September and October The ocean breezes are still warm and the beaches are much less crowded. It’s a peaceful place, indeed!
I went back into my stamp archives for the High Tide stamp set. It’s a favorite summer stamp set and I love the sentiments. I’m sending this to someone special who could use some congratulatory encouragement!
Along with all of the stamped images from the High Tide stamp set, I used lots of ink: Real Red, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Soft Sky. Whew!! I added my stamped top layer to a Crumb Cake card base and decided to tuck a Real Red layer between the two. The Real Red layer gives the image layer some extra depth.
I went off the grid a bit today going back into my archives, but I enjoyed my visit beside the seaside! Thank you, Joanne!
So, think about being “beside the seaside” add lots of ink, a Real Red layer and link up with us over at the Paper Players. We love to see your cards.
…the only limitation is your imagination!

I love this set too Debbie and you’ve created such a peaceful scene with it on your card. Your rays of light pick up those gulls perfectly too – just lovely and so perfect for my theme this week!
Beautiful, Debbie! The Real Red layer truly sets off the focal panel. It is such a serene scene you have created. I know the recipient will appreciate this card. I would love to join you at the beach in the fall. It sounds heavenly. Have a wonderful week!
Love your nautical scene and the awesome sentiment inside!
What a stunningly beautiful card!!! I love that you decorated the inside too!
This is beautiful, Deb! Really does invoke the beach and seaside! We love late summer for our vacations too…still warm, not so crowded, just a great time!
Such a nice job once again, Deb! This is one of those SU sets that I will never part with! Excellent job with the challenge! Have a wonderful week.
You can’t ever go wrong with a classic lighthouse! I love the bright red stamping and red detail on the cardstock layer; it pulls everything together! Hope you have a great week!
This is gorgeous!!!! I love this lighthouse and the fabulous background you created! Just Wow! You rocked this challenge
Lovely card. Love the sun rays and how you put the entire scene together.
Debbie, I love the thin red mat – it really helps to tie the base to the focal image and pop the lighthouse. I also love that you kept it clean of a sentiment on the outside and left it for the inside. Fabulous card
