Hello, friends!

Today’s card is a quick put together while mixing and matching new products. I knew it would be a matter of time before I put this Sun Prints pattern into my Paper Trimmer. I strategically cut the paper to take out the center bottom of the 12″ x 12″ sheet to give me this layer.

Today’s Stampin’ Story

I put together a card using the Butterfly Kisses Product Suite. The card in my last blog post wasn’t the card I set out to make. I thought white butterflies would work with the patterned paper I chose. They dis, but I decided to fussy cut colorful butterflies. I thought about what I would do with white the die cut butterflies. I went through my Designer Series Paper for some inspiration. That usually works for me and it did again. I came across the 12″ x 12″ piece of Night of Navy and white screen print pattern from the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper. I knew what I would do with the butterfly.

Looking at the pattern, I saw the middle section gave me the background I wanted for the butterfly. I cut 4″ from each side of the 12″ x 12″ sheet and cut the middle section to a layer size that measures 3 3/4″ x 5″. I knew this would be my top layer. My card base is Basic White, but I wanted Night of Navy to frame my DSP layer. The top of the center panel was more of a solid Night of Navy, so I cut that piece to a layer size of 4″ x 5 1/4″.

The sentiments from the Best Butterfly stamp set didn’t work well with my pattern, so I chose the “friend” sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and embossed it in white. The font is so graceful. It matched the pattern in the Sun Prints DSP perfectly.

The Inside Story

I stamped the inside with a coordinating sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and added a stamped fern image from the Nature’s Prints stamp set. The stamped fern gave me a “pattern repeat”. “Pattern Repeat” is a design term that simply repeats a pattern. When you have a pattern repeat in any project, it will give your design a more cohesive look. Stampin’ Up!’s creative team always makes this easy for us.

So, grab your Sun Prints DSP, add a layer and an embossed sentiment, create a pattern repeat and a coordinating sentiment, and create something thankful!

… the only limitation is your imagination!
