Today’s post is showcasing the Design A Treat Bundle. This little trinket or treat box can hold a pretty charm or a dark chocolate truffle! Whichever you prefer! I put it together in less than a minute with the treat box die, my bone folder, and two small pieces of Tear & Tape. I also “designed” a matching card using the Dies and the Design A Treat stamp set.

My inspiration for both the card and treat box came from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. This Bundle is on page 61. With the Dies, you can easily create a bunch of bats for Halloween treats, lots of reindeer for Christmas and Holiday goodies, a bunny for an Easter celebration, and all year flowers just to say “thinking of you!” I decided on the flowers today. You can easily duplicate this card in a Fall theme by creating Crushed Curry flowers with Soft Suede in the center. Fun, right?

Today’s Card Pieces And Parts

  • It looks busy, but once you get the cuts done, putting it together is fast.
  • Cut the Basic White card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the longer side.
  • The Crushed Curry card layer is 5 1/4″ x 4″.
  • The patterned paper layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″.
  • Attach the card layers to the card base, as shown.

Die Cuts

  • Here’s a die cutting tip for this card. I used my Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and scraps of Crushed Curry, Carden Green, Bermuda Bay and Poppy Parade cardstock.
  • In one sweep, I die cut the Poppy Parade flower, Crushed Curry stitched Circle and Garden Green reindeer antlers (these became my floral sprigs).
  • My second sweep through the die cutting machine included the Bermuda Bay and Basic White cardstock flowers.

Assembling the Elements

  • Run a thin line of glue along the straight side of one of the half flowers. Attach both flower sides together.
  • I punched the flower center circles with my 1/2″ circle punch. (That was quick and easy).
  • I cut 3/4″ strips of Bermuda Bay and Basic White cardstock to create my sentiment banner layers.
  • The Poppy Parade cardstock strip is 3/8″ x 3 1/4″.
  • The Bermuda Bay cardstock strip is 1/4″ x 3 1/2″.
  • Stamp the Basic White strip with the lined stamp from the Design A Treat stamp set and Poppy Parade ink. Cut this strip the length of the stamped image.
  • Wrap some Linen Thread around four of your fingers a few times, remove from your fingers and crunch the center to create the bow. I adhered mine in the center with a large glue dot.
  • Assemble the sentiment banner layers as shown below.

  • Start with the Poppy Parade strip, add a line of liquid glue along the top, attach the Bermuda Bay strip.
  • Add a thin line of glue along the top of the Bermuda Bay strip, then attach the stamped strip.
  • Stamp your favorite sentiment in Soft Suede ink onto a Basic White strip cut 1/2″ x 2″ and attach the strip on top of the Bermuda Bay and Poppy Parade strips as shown.
  • Attach the Linen Thread bow to the back of this sentiment panel you just created.
  • Adhere the sentiment strip to the card front as shown with Dimensionals.

The Big Finish

  • Attach the die cut circle to the card front as shown.
  • Attach the flowers to the circle as shown, then cut the antler flower sprigs and slide them under the flowers as shown.
  • Attach the assembled sentiment layers along with the Linen Thread bow, as shown.

Soooo, cut some layers, put your cutting machine into high gear, add some Linen Thread and create something cute and fun.

… the only limitation is your imagination!
