Oh, so cute! Part of the current Perfect Partners promotion, the “This Birthday Piggy” bundle is so much fun to use. The This Birthday Piggy stamp set is in the current Annual Catalog. Stampin’ Up! created a coordinating die set, the Playful Piggy Dies. The stamp set alone is adorable, and paired with the dies, you’ll create with it smiling all the way!
The Playful Piggy Dies have 18 separate dies. There are lots of little detail dies and larger dies to cut the piggy images in the stamp set. There’s an adorable little wagon die that will surely get your creative mojo going. Fill it with flowers, apples, and possibly a sweet little piggy!
Today’s Card Pieces And Parts
- Today’s card showcases the dies – the large die cut the piggy on the motorbike and smaller dies cut the grass, confetti and the bandana on this adventurous pig.
- I cut a Basic White card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.
- The Granny Apple Green horizontal banner is 3/4″ x 5″. I used the Banner Pick A Punch to cut the flagged ends.
- I built my focal point piggy on the largest stitched circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
- If you were going to duplicate this design, the circle measures about 3″ in diameter.
- I shaded the piggy with a Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend, and used the light shades of Tahitian Tide, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Real Red to color the rest of the stamped image.
- I stamped all the images with Basic Gray ink and the sentiment with Tahitian Tide ink.
- The little bandana is my favorite detail. I stamped the gingham stamp from the Christmas Scottie stamp set with Basic Gray ink and used the little bandana die to die cut it.
- I used the same large piggy stamp for the inside of the card, masking off the piggy on the motorbike and stamping only the confetti.
- I added a little color to the confetti with Blends.
Although there was lots of die cutting to complete this card, it came together quickly. I made one sweep through my die cutting machine for all the die cut elements. Cutting the grass took an extra sweep.
So, grab your piggy stamp, add lots of color and a gingham bandana, and create something fun!
