Hello and happy Thursday!

Today’s card is called a CAS card. Clean And Simple! A CAS card has lots of white space, minimal layers and little or no embellishment. This design fits the CAS description perfectly. I can’t take credit for the stamped image, thoug. I wish I could, but I have to give that to the concept artists over at Stampin’ Up!. Isn’t this image so peaceful and pretty.  For a traditional winter/Christmas scene, it has a contemporary vibe. What do you think?

This is a stamd-alone stamp set (no matching dies), that is so appropriately named … “Peace To You”. There are two large red rubber stamps and four sentiment stamps. I think it’s beautiful! Also, if you want the perfect stamp set for multiple card making, this can easily accomplish that.

Below is the Quick And Easy “How To”

  • I didn’t take a “Pieces And Parts” photo before I put this card together since there really isn’t much to it. It’s simple and pretty!
  • I cut a Basic White, top fold card base 4 1/2″ x 11″ and scored it at 5 1/2″.
  • As an aside, the reason I do so many “top fold” designs is that they are easier to photograph. When I do a side fold card, I always have difficulty with shadows and lighting. I will work on post more side fold cards, though.
  • I stamped the image with Starry Sky ink (so appropriate for the mood of this stamp) onto a Basic White layer that measures 3″ x 4″.
  • I used my stamp positioning tool (Stamparatus) to center the stamp onto the 3″ x 4″ layer.
  • This created about 1/8 of an inch around the top and sides of the stamped image. The bottom didn’t matter, because the bottom of the stamp is the curved “snow”.
  • I cut a Starry Sky cardstock layer 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ and centered the stamped layer on it.
  • I attached this layer to the center of my cardbase with Dimensionals.
  • The stntiments are stamped with Starry Sky ink.
  • This Starry Sky was screaming for sparkle, so I added five Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
  • I probably could have added more sparkle, but the angel on my “conservative” side stopped me!

So, stamp a peaceful Starry Sky, add a matching layer, some sparkle, and create a pretty CAS card.

… the only limitation is your imagination!
