Het there and Happy Friday to you!

I thought I would share a sweet circle of Santa Express Designer Series Paper with you today. I cut the large stitched circle in the center of this card from a design in the Santa Express Designer Series Paper pack. If you haven’t gotten the Santa Delivery Bundle, or any product from the Santa Express Suite, you have to seriously consider getting the Designer Series Paper. It has whimsical designs of Santa and his train travels through the North Pole. You can have fun creating your own custom scenes using this paper.

Let’s get to today’s inspiration.

Today’s Card Parts And Pieces

  • A card base, three stacked layers, a die cut circle, cardstock strips, gum drops and a tree. That’s everything you need to create this card.
  • I cut a Basic White card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored it at 5 1/2″.
  • I cut the Evening Evergreen layer 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.
  • Next up is another Basic White mat layer. I cut this layer 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • I cut the patterned paper layer 3 3/4″ x 5″.
  • The cardstock strips are scraps that I cut 1/4″ wide x 5 1/2″ long. Althougn the top layer is 3 3/4″ wide, you need the extra length because they’re set diagonally on the layer. You’ll have room on each side to trim.
  • I stamped and die cut the tree and gum drops (from the Sweetest Gingerbread Bundle).

Assemble The Card

  • Start from the top layer and work down to the card base.
  • I cut a Basic White strip to use as a base for the 1/4″ scrap strips.
  • It’s easier to glue the strips to a piece of cardstock.
  • Attach the “banner” you just created with the 1/4″ strips diagonally across the center of the card.
  • I attached the DSP circle with Dimensionals.
  • I stamped and die cut the gum drops and tree, and attached them to the circle as shown.
  • The die cut “cloud” is stamped with Evening Evergreen ink.
  • I attached the sentiment cloud to the card front with Dimensionals.
  • Attach the card front to the smaller Basic White layer, then attach to the Evening Evergreen layer.
  • I attached the layer group to the card base last.
  • A few Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins are a perfect embellishment.
  • They give the right amount of sparkle!

Don’t Forger the Inside

  • I stamped the sentiment, the heart and the tree with stamps from the Sweetest Gingerbread stamp set.
  • I enjoy mixing stamps, paper and images.
  • I think the Sweetest Gingerbread Bundle is a good match to the Santa Express patterned paper. I love its whimsical font!

So, get out your cardstock scraps, attach them to cardstock, make a diagonal banner, add it to some fun patterned paper and create something whimsical.

… the only limitation is your imagination!
