Hi there! I hope you were able to spend some time in your craft space this weekend.

I had the oppotrunity to attend a weekend crop where I hosted card making classes to a wonderful group of paper crafters. We talked about layering. How can layering change and complement the look of your card. We also talked about creating a focal point, and we practiced these topics in the “Fun Fold” class. Today’s card is one I featured in the class. It’s a quick and easy fun fold. I’ve used this template in many of my cards.

This design is great if you want to showcase some coordinating patterned paper, or simply add one pattern (as I did here), and cut a coordinating cardstock layer.

Today’s Card Pieces And Parts

  • I cut a Basic White single layer card base that measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
  • The Calypso Coral cardstock layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • The patterned paper layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″.
  • These are all basic layer cuts for an A-2 card.
  • That little card on top of the card base, which is also the Focal Point, measures 4″ x 5 1/2″ and is scored at 2 3/4″.

The sentiment on the inside of this card is from the Something Fancy stamp set. It’s a favorite of mine.

I featured the Dandy Designs patterned paper along with the Country Bouquet stamp set. The stamped heart in the center of this card is stamped using two stamps from the set. “Two-Step Stamping” is layering two stamps on top of each other.

When I stamped this image, I used Calupso Coral ink to stamp the flopwers, then stamped the leaaves with Granny Apple Green ink. I used my Stamparatus for this technique. It made the process quick and easy. I completed a few cards in very little time.

So, download the PDF above, match up some patterned paper and cardstock, two-step stamp a pretty heart and create something fun to celebrate a birthday!

… the only limitation is your imagination!
