Take A Look At Wild Wheat

Today’s card is CASE’d from the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. I couldn’t think of a better way to showcase Wild Wheat. (And, I couldn’t wait any longer to cut this top layer from the Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper). The Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper will be available to all customers on May 2nd. It’s beautiful, but I want to talk about one of the new 2023-2025 In Colors, Wild Wheat.

I am thrilled that Wild Wheat will be around for the next two years! It’s difficult to appreciate in the photos. It’s gold with a hint of green and on the cooler side. So versatile, and will make a great “neutral” for lots of cards and projects.

Today’s showcased color inspiration is Wild Wheat, Blackberry Bliss, and Old Olive. Old Olive is the perfect “green” for Wild Wheat.

Today’s Card Parts And Pieces

The Wild Wheat top-fold card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.
The top Designer Series Paper layer is cut directly from the Fresh As A Daisy DSP.
The Blackberry Bliss cardstock layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″.
The patterned paper layer is just a smidgen less than the Blaskberry Bliss layer. (A smidgen is about 1/16th of an inch).
I wanted a very thin mat layer for this DSP. It barely frames the patterned paper, but gives dimension.
For a bit more dimension, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the DSP and mat layer to the card front.
I die cut a few “fern like” elements using Old Olive cardstock to create the color inspiration combination.
The sentiment (from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set), is stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink.
I die cut the sentiment with one of the dies from the Sending Dies. (They’re available now and are coming back).

For the inside of the card, I cut a Blackberry Bliss cardstock layer 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″. I stamped A 3 3/4″ x 5″ Basic White cardstock layer with a flower cluster from the new Cheerful Daisies stamp set and Wild Wheat ink.
