Today’s card features the Cheerful Daisies Bundle. I did a little bit of paper piecing (the leaves), and added die cut overlays to the daisies in this card. The large daisies die cut, along with the Cheerful Daisies coordinating dies made putting this card together very easy. If you haven’t already tried it, paper piecing is a fun way to get creative with your dies. So, let’s make a card!
Today’s Card Parts & Pieces
- My “Parts & Pieces” photo looks similar to the finished card. As you can see, I changed the sentiment during my assembly process. I do that on occasion. Something else comes to mind, and I go with it.
- I cut a tent fold Thick Basic White card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored it at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.
- The Countryside Inn DSP layer is 2 5/8″ x 5 1/2″. It’s attched to the center of the card front.
- I die cut the daisies using with Basic White cardstock using the large daisies die in the Bundle.
- The Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath, and Boho Blue daisy overlays are also die cuts from the Cheerful Daisies Dies.
- Using the large focal point die again, I die cut only the leaves using Soft Sea Foam cardstock.
- I used the inside portion of the Soft Sea Foam leaves to “piece” inside the open space of the Basic White die cut.
- Because I wanted to attach the finished daisy focal pint to the card front with Dimensionals, I used a very small piece of tape on the back of the leaves to hold the “pieces” in place.
- The sentiment is heat embossed directly onto the Designer Series Paper layer. I used White Embossing Powder, my heat tool and the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. This Kit includes tweezers, a brush, an Embossing Buddy and Embossing Tray, making it so easy to heat emboss a sentiment or an image.
- I added a few white Adhesive Backed Sequins to embellish.
- I stamped the inside of the card using Boho Blue and Bubble Bath ink.
So, die cut a few large daisies along with the matching overlays, try a little paper piecing, add an embossed sentiment and create a simple and pretty card to wish a friend a bright birthday!
