Scrapbook page layouts? I didn’t think I could because I never have! I think you would all agree with me that we would do just about anything for family. My family has so many wonderful and happy events coming up this year, and it excites me to see all the kids grown up and happily creating new life adventures.

I have a Stampin’ Story to share today!

My sister called a few weeks ago and asked me to create a scrapbook for her future daughter-in-law’s bridal shower. Of course, it involved cutting paper, so I welcomed the opportunity. I did let her know that I’ve never done it. She said, “Oh Debbie, I know it will be beautiful.” So, with that kind of encouragement, I began, and my craft room will never be the same! Now I know why they call it “scrapbooking”!

So, I set out to find a scrapbook, and find inspiration for page layouts. This all meant that I had to step away from my card making, but it was important to me and to my sister. Definitely no regrets!

I had to create the pages without pictures. They would be inserted by the bride-to-be after the event. As you can see, the theme was “Wildflowers”. Thank goodness I have a large paper stash, a pretty good imagination, and had access to lots of my Stampin’ Up! and Paper Pumpkin product coordination.

Ironically, it all came at the time when Stampin’ Up! is beginning to venture more into scrapbooking. I have a new respect for those who create pages. Creating one page is like putting together four cards!

The pages I’m showcasing today are just three different layouts. I created more, thought I photographed them before the shower, but didn’t get all of them. The three pages below aren’t the best quality, since they were already in the book.

So, I went out of my card making comfort zone, created a few scrapbook layouts, and completely enjoyed every minute of it. Although I am a card maker at heart, it may be fun to add some scrapbooking pages to my craft room.

The shower was beautiful, and everyone loved my pages. I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures from the event in these pages.

I hope you enjoyed my new papercrafting adventure. I’m back to card making and creating new posts for your inspiration. Tomorrow, I’ll have new “In Color” inspiration for you, so be sure to check in.
