It’s time again for another Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This week, Michelle came up with a beautiful Color Challenge, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay and Crumb Cake.
These colors remind me of the beach, but I think that’s because the weather changed here in New Jersey… been a little colder over the past week and everything reminds me of the beach… maybe in another two weeks or so, I can get there and take a much needed walk in the sand, a favorite way to treat myself.
Now I’ll tell you about today’s project. I’m really not sure what inspired me. I wanted to create some sort of frame, so that was my start.
- When I looked through my stamps, “Swallowtail” caught my eye, so I went with it.
- The question was whether to color in the Swallowtail, or just stamp it.
- I stamped the swallowtail in Bermuda Bay and decided to add some color splashes with “Gorgeous Grunge”.
- I made sure I positioned the large splashes with Cucumber Crush, so it would pop next to the Bermuda Bay.
- The smaller splashes of Crumb Cake help to give the project more color balance.
- I used the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set.
- A little fussy cutting and some Stampin’ Dimensionals add a little depth.
This was another fun project for me.
So, grab a great big stamp, do a little fussy cutting, add a frame and create something fabulous to link up with the Pals. Oh, and don’t forget the bling!
WOW Debbie! This is absolutely beautiful! Thanks for playing PPA295 with us this week.
This couldn’t be more beautiful, Debbie! I love everything about it. Everything.
Thank you, Brian. This was quick. Swallowtail is easy to fussy cut :)!
This is stunning, Debbie! Love the framed swallowtail. So glad you enjoyed my challenge!! Thanks for playing along.
The crumb cake so beautifully frames the swallowtail. And the splashes of cucumber crush add such interest behind the butterfly. Fabulous card.
Thank you, Michelle. This was a fun project and a cool color challenge from Michelle Q.
Wow, Debbie! You’ve really rocked that swallowtail! The green splotches are the perfect touch. Thanks so much for sharing your card with us this week at Pals Paper Arts!
Thanks much, Peggy. I always have fun playing with all of you over at the PPA.
