The first time I looked at Stampin’ Up!’s new Occasions Catalog, I knew I wanted the Moon Baby stamp set. It is the most adorable “baby” set I’ve seen. Aside from that, I have a personal story attached to the stamp in today’s project. When my daughter was born, I bought her a “Moon Baby”… it was an exact duplicate of this stamp … a baby asleep on the moon. She still has it and when she saw this stamp set, she remembered her “moon baby”. That was a nice moment we shared.
It’s been a few weeks since I picked up my stamps, paper and ink and I’ve really missed getting lost in the creative process of it all. So, having said that, I have another “Stampin’ Story” to share. Today, I had a “great save”. This isn’t the first time it happened to me, and I know it’s happened to some of my friends. Take a look at the picture of my project below…
My card was finished and ready to photograph when I noticed two ink splats… one to the left of the hanging star, just under the moon and one on the right of the hanging star… not sure how they got there, but there they were. I decided to take a picture of the card and share with you the before and after. With the help of two more little sequins, my card was PERFECT! Actually, I like it better with the added sequins.
THE “GREAT SAVE” BELOW
Here’s the inside…
This is such a nice baby card, but I made two and I’m sending them to my daughter and son. They’ll have a surprise in their mailboxes this week. They’re both thirty-something, but still my Moon Babies!
So, grab some ink, a blender pen, a cute stamp and create something adorable!

I've been wanting to fussy cut those Mary Janes since I first saw this stamp set. "Baby We've Grown" is just adorable. I couldn't help but add pearls and ruffles; they all seem to work perfectly for this very girly card.
Crisp Cantaloupe is a fun color to work with and it easily mates with Baked Brown Sugar. Both are warm and have a similar rich hue.
The ruffled ribbon is retired, but I had to use it here. This card is on its way to a friend's daughter to celebrate her new baby girl. I added some Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Bakers Twine wrapped with Linen Thread. To me, Linen Thread is a definite staple at my stampin' table… right up there with Stampin' Dimensionals.
All of the images are from the "Baby We've Grown" stamp set and the sweet little heart is a favorite of mine from the Owl Builder Punch. My card base is Whisper White with a layer of Baked Brown Sugar card stock. The pretty Crisp Cantalouupe polka dot patterned paper is from the 2013-2015 In Colors DSP Stack.
So, grab your favorite stamp set, and some pretty ribbons and create something beautiful!
Today, I attended my great niece's Christening. Of course, I had to create something very special for our new little Maggie Lynn so I set out to make another one of my collage cards. I think I've become addicted to these.
So, with some Whisper White, Very Vanilla – Neutrals DSP Stack, and Pink Pirouette card stock… on came the inspiration.
A few neutral layers to ground it all – my Whisper White A-2 card base, a Very Vanilla DSP layer, and another Whisper White layer embossed with the Stripes embossing folder;
I love banners – all shapes and sizes. So next was my sentiment banner which I hand cropped from the Very Vanilla DSP, stamped my "blessings" sentiment with one of Stampin' Up!'s "oldies but goodies" stamp sets called Graceful Words (a retired set that will never leave my stamping room), and added a little Pink Pirouette border from the Adorning Accents Edgelits;
Now for the collage – my focal point and "Sweet Spot". A square frame in Pink Pirouette with a matching Elegant Butterfly. A tag cropped with Chalk Talk framelits and stamped with "always" from another oldie but goodie called "Small Script" – which will never leave my stamping room, and embellished with some Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon.
Pearls, Pearls and more pearls… a perfect embellishment for the feminine softness I wanted this card to have.
I kept the softness of the card going by using Sahara Sand ink… just enough.
I hope Maggie Lynn will look back years from now and love the card her Aunt Deb created for her special day.
This card it on its way to my daughter's friend who just had a beautiful baby girl.
I really enjoyed making this card. It's not the typical baby card. I chose the more vibrant Strawberry Slush and paired it with Baked Brown Sugar, both colors from SU's 2013-2015 In Colors Collection.
Since it's for a girl, I embellished with some flowers, a very feminine In Color Boutique Details button in Strawberry Slush, and used Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper…so pretty!
Here's some measurements and a quick "how to":
Whisper White standard A-2 card base;
First layer of Strawberry Slush card stock is 4" X 5 1/4";
Second layer is Baked Brown Sugar DSP and measures 3" X 5 1/4";
I created my own tag shape from Gingham Garden DSP (under the oval frame) which measures 3 1/2" X 1 1/2";
The Baked Brown Sugar Oval Frame measures 2 1/4" X 3 1/2" – I used an Ovals collection Framelit centered on the Baked Brown Sugar frame and ran it through my Big Shot. It's attached with dimensionals;
The "Welcome Baby" sentiment is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and stamped onto Whisper White card stock with Strawberry Slush ink;
I cropped the sentiment with one of the Itty Bitty Banners Framelits and framed it by hand with some Strawberry Slush card stock. It's attached to the oval frame with mini glue dots;
The Strawberry Slush Boutique Details Button is attached to the top of the oval frame with a glue dot;
To balance the frame, I created a little embellishment for the bottom using Floral Framelits and Floral Fusion Sizzlits…and, of course, who could resist that adorable little Whisper White Candy Dot!
For this one, I just had to line the envelope. I used SU's new Envelope Liners Framelits and some Polka Dot Strawberry Slush DSP from the 2013-2015 In Colors DSP Stack.
Today, my card has a lot going on. I hope it gives you some inspiration to use the tools and supplies you have to re-create your version!
Thank you for stopping by today, and Happy Stampin'!
It's been a little crazy in my household lately with the upcoming marriage of my daughter…it's days away and I know the time will go very quickly. My brain's been in overdrive with the remaining details, but I wanted to get another blog post up…so here's today's project.
The Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper is beautiful. Very trendy color combinations make it so much fun to use. This striking color combination is Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Baked Brown Sugar.
I did a little coloring with my Blender Pen and a little cropping with my Ovals Collection framelits. No embellishment needed here. These detailed, fun stamps do all the necessary work.
Stampin' Up! Supplies Used: Cardstock – Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar, Eastern Elegance DSP. Ink – Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry. Stamp Set – Best of Brides and Babies. Tools – Ovals Collection Framelits, Stampin' Dimensionals, Blender Pen.
