Celebration Tidings Just For You!

More Plaid Tidings today!

Here’s a quick, easy and simple card for just about any occasion.  Today’s color palette was inspired by the colors in the patterned paper. When I chose this plaid, the subtle blue caught my eye. I wanted to keep more of a Fall theme going. To me, Fall colors are richer and deeper, so I paired the plaid with Misty Moonlight! Don’t doubt the Misty Moonlight and Bumble Bee color combination. Pair it with some Melon Mambo and you have a winner!

Below are today’s project supplies and card layer dimensions:

  • Bumblebee card stock standard A-2 card base;
  • Cut a Misty Moonlight card stock layer to 4″ X 5 1/4″
  • The Plaid DSP layer is 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″
  • I cropped the top Misty Moonlight layer with a Rectangle Stitched Framelit die. The die measures 2 5/8″ X 4″
  • The Whisper White layer measures 3 3/4″ X 2 3/8″
  • The floral image and “Just For You” sentiment are from the Celebration Tidings stamp set stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.
  • I colored in the leaves with the dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends marker.

The Celebration Tidings Bundle in Stampin’ Up!’s new August-December Mini Catalog is a perfect fit for the upcoming holiday season and beyond. Lots of versatility in this one!  And you save 10% on the Bundle Pricing.  Click here to get the details.

Parisian Beauty Bundle Is Retiring!

Another favorite of mine that is going away is from Stampin’ Up!’s January-June 2020 Mini Catalog.  The Parisian Blossoms Suite caught my eye immediately.

I switched up the Suite’s color palette a bit and used Rose Gold Foil Paper from the Everything is Rosy Product Medley (now on the Clearance Rack), shadowed by some Soft Suede.  The warm combination of Pool Party and Soft Suede is a favorite of mine.

If you look closely, you’ll see that I cropped two Eiffel Towers; one in Soft Suede and one in Rose Gold.  I glued them together, but slightly offset the Soft Suede in back of the Rose Gold to give some depth to the Eiffel Tower.  I repeated the same process when I cropped the “Amour” sentiment. The swirl image from the Parisian Dies is simply stunning! A few sequins add just a little more shine.

The Soft Suede stamped background font is simple and elegant. Rather than Whisper White, I used Very Vanilla for the card layer just to keep the color palette soft. A little Soft Suede ink around the edges of both card layers sets them apart nicely.

The center card layer is a piece of the patterned paper from the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper which is not only on the Retiring Products list, but its on sale at 20% off.

So, treat yourself to the Parisian Blossoms Suite, add a little Soft Suede and just a few sequins and create something soft and pretty.

Stay safe and be well!

Hugs to you.

An Incredibly Pretty Peacock!

A happy Wednesday wish for you!

When I first saw the Noble Peacock Suite, I knew I would own it.  It’s blue!  The photopolymer stamp images of the Royal Peacock Stamp Set are so beautifully detailed that the matching Detailed Peacock Dies are only a bonus. I’ll save them for another post. Today’s project is simply stamps, ink and paper… oh and a whole lot of bling. My photography doesn’t do this card the justice it deserves.

I have a Stampin’ Story to share about the bling.

I was just finishing up this card when my daughter came by to visit.  I was deciding where to add just a few Noble Peacock Rhinestones, when Alison came into my craft room.

She completely ignored the design “rule of thirds” and added the rhinestones to just about every eye in the peacock tail.  I have to admit, I liked it and I enjoyed watching her get lost in her own creativity.  We stamped a few more cards and now I have to place another order for the rhinestones!!

When Alison was about 3 or 4 years old, she loved anything with rhinestones, fringe and feathers… the more something sparkled, the more she loved it and if it had fringe or feathers, she wouldn’t let it go… she certainly hasn’t lost her love for the sparkle.  She’s very much an adult now, and an incredibly dedicated 5th grade school teacher.  I am as “proud as a peacock” of all of her accomplishments!

Here’s the Clean and Simple How To:

  • I cut a standard A-2 size card base layer in Pretty Peacock card stock, added a 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″ Old Olive card stock layer and cut a 4″ X 5 1/4″ layer of Whisper White;
  • I used the Stamparatus to set the large peacock stamp on one flap and the tail overlay stamp on the second flap. The Stamparatus makes stamping this card so easy;
  • I stamped the large peacock with Pretty Peacock ink and used my Encore Gold Metallic ink pad to stamp the peacock tail overlay. The gold metallic did show up nicely, but you could also gold emboss the tail overlay for a more textured look.
  • The “You are incredible” sentiment is from the Royal Peacock stamp set.
  • Added lots and lots of Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

So, grab a beautifully detailed stamp, add a few card stock layers, lots and lots of bling and create something incredible!

Magnolia Lane For You!

Happy Monday friends!

Magnolias are a favorite flower of mine.  I had a magnolia tree in my yard and always enjoyed its beautiful blooms during the Spring and into early Summer.  The most striking fact about the magnolia is that it’s a very old flower and has been gracing Earth since the very beginning of time. It is actually because of this fact that the flower represents endurance, eternity, and long life.

The Petal Pink and Whisper White striped pattern from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper and the Stitched Rectangles Dies are perfect together!  This pattern has a beautiful linen-like texture which softens the stripe just enough to accommodate the magnolia.  These two elements paired with a stitched rectangle frame give today’s card a comfortably elegant look.

I borrowed the sentiment from the Let It Ride stamp set. The font is soft enough to work with the patterned paper and the magnolia and bold enough to work with the wider frame. I thought it was a good fit.

So, pull out your favorite striped pattern, add a stitched frame, fussy cut a beautiful flower and create something stunning!  Oh, and don’t forget the sparkle!

Tea Together… It’s Your Day!

Hello friends and happy Tuesday to you!

I went off the grid for today’s post and here’s my Stampin’ Story…

It’s a rare occasion that I don’t use Stampin’ Up! products for my blog projects, but I really wanted to share this card.  I’m sure this won’t come as a surprise to you, but I have a decent amount of patterned paper tucked away in my craft room. My friend and team member, Barbara, came over last week to do some stamping.  She brought over the Tea Together stamp set and the Tea Time Dies. I don’t own either of them so naturally, I wanted to “play”. This stamp set is so pretty.

Keeping in line with the natural order of my creative process, I already made up my mind that I was going to use the tea pot but I wasn’t sure how.  My patterned paper stash came out and several pieces made their way to the floor… I always sit on the floor when I’m matching my patterned paper, it’s part of my process!  So, the patterned paper for today’s project is not Stampin’ Up!, but I thought it was such a good fit for the lines of the tea pot image.

This was another quick card to put together. The tea pot image was stamped with Versa Mark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I stamped the sentiment with Soft Suede ink. Soft Suede is a great color to pair with the warm pinks and corals because it’s a warm brown.

I don’t have a color palette posted today, but I did use Blushing Bride card stock as a mat for the patterned paper layers.

So, grab a beautiful tea pot image, match up some patterned paper and create something pretty!
