Stampin’ Up!’s Floral Boutique Suite

Here’s a really quick card project using Stampin’ Up!’s Floral Boutique Suite from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.  You can’t get more “Clean and Simple” and “Quick and Easy” than this!  Make a few with your favorite colors and sentiments.

For this card, I used Whisper White card stock with a Night of Navy Base and accent layer.  The sentiment I chose is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.  I just liked the font with the florals for a bit of a different look.  The sentiments from the coordinating Floral Phrases stamp set are beautiful as well, and you’ll save 10% by purchasing the Floral Boutique Bundle.  This one’s not just for Spring!

Here’s the Project Review:

  • Top a standard A-2 card base with a Whisper White Layer.
  • Run the beautiful “Detailed Floral Framelit” die through your Big Shot and attach it to the Whisper White layer with some green glue.
  • Add your sentiment to the center of the card above the floral details.
  • I couldn’t resist adding a few pearls to the finished card.  They seem to add a little more delicate detail to the delicate details in the framelit layer.
  • Done! Quick! Easy! Fun! Beautiful!
  • … and don’t forget to embellish the envelope!

So, grab that PERFECT framelit, your favorite card stock, a beautiful sentiment and create something FUN!

Stampin’ Pretty Pals March Blog Hop – Spring Has Sprung!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for March 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring Spring or Spring related projects. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

When I think of Spring, I think of flowers.  Flowers are wonderful to look at and smell.  I enjoy having them around my home and I treat myself to fresh flowers often, especially in the winter.

When I was preparing my project for today’s Hop, I knew I was going to use the Avant-Garden Stamp Set, a FREE Sale-A-Bration product.  This is the first time I used these stamps… they are gorgeous!  It’s hard to say, since all the products in this year’s Sale-A-Bration Brochures are the best I’ve ever seen during a Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration event, but I do think this set will stick around for a while, at least in my stamping room.  For a look at all the Sale-A-Bration projects, you can click on the catalogs in the right sidebar.

I paired the Avant-Garden flower with the swirly circle stamp from the very “avant-garde” Timeless Textures stamp set (in the Annual Catalog).  Both stamps have a beautiful texture.  I stamped the swirly circles with Whisper White Craft Ink which adds even more texture to the already detailed stamp.  I hope you can see it in the photo below, but if you run your fingers across the stamped circles, they are actually raised (keep in mind my stamp pad was pretty juicy, making the images a little thicker, and drying time a little longer).

My color inspiration came from a patio set that caught my eye from a catalog I just received in the mail… Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay. I added just a hint of Crushed Curry for a little color pop… remember, when in doubt, go with a yellow.  It seems everything was nicely laid out for me to complete my project.  As we stampers always say, inspiration can come from anywhere.

So, get yourself the Avant-Garden stamp set, pair it with an avant-garde image or two, and create something gorgeous!

Pals January Blog Hop – From The Heart!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for January 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects showcase themes that are “from the heart.” This includes any of the following themes… Valentine’s Day, Thinking of You, Get Well and/or Sympathy. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

Did you ever feel a little under the weather and then you hear from a good friend who says they were just thinking of you?  A few days after Christmas, I woke up with a horrible head cold and spent quite a few days resting.  I don’t remember the last time I wasn’t feeling well so I was a little impatient with myself, and not very good company.  My friend called and I was pretty miserable, but she was still happy to chat with me. That made me smile.

So, I was thinking of what to post today, and came across this sentiment in the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  I thought it was perfect, and this card is already addressed and ready to mail. My friend’s patience with me was heartfelt and I’m sending this card off to her “from the heart”.

This Clean and Simple card is a standard A-2 Whisper White card base with a layer of black and white patterned paper from Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.  The second layer of patterned paper is Inside The Lines Designer Series Paper, a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  The Supply List for this project is below.

So grab your favorite “Bundle”, crop something sparkly, crop another shadow layer and create something from the heart!

Today’s clean and simple card was inspired by a piece of patterned paper.  “Inside The Lines” Designer Series Paper is featured in the upcoming Sale-A-Bration brochure.  This paper coordinates with the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, from the new Occasions Catalog.   More about these beautiful new products in a future post.

The framed dragonfly is an image I cropped from the patterned paper… no stamping at all.  It’s the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper that adds just the right amount of sparkle and shine to the beautifully detailed dragonfly.  I ran one of the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies through my Big Shot with the Glimmer Paper.  Even though the Glimmer Paper is a heavier weight than the card stock, the die cut through the paper perfectly.

It’s that little extra touch of glimmer that gives this card just a bit of playful elegance that goes quite well with the sentiment font, don’t you agree?

I’ll leave you with some fun dragonfly facts…  Did you know that the dragonfly won’t sting or bite and they don’t carry disease or germs…  Did you know that the dragonfly can fly up and down and from side to side and that their eyesight is amazing… They can eat hundreds of mosquitos in a single day… and, of all the insects, dragonflies can be the most charming.  Hmm, I think my dragonfly is very charming.

So, grab some sparkling Glimmer Paper, crop an image and create something charming.

“Celebrate, Life Looks Beautiful On you!  I love, love, love this stamp set and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.  Did you ever just know when a you have a perfect match?  The “Beautiful You” stamp set and “Playful Palette” Designer Series Paper Stack is the perfect match.

“Playful Palette” Designer Series Paper Stack from the Annual Catalog and “Beautiful You” from the upcoming Occasions Catalog were made for each other.  The brush stroke patterns in the paper coordinate so well with the brush stroke stamped images.

It doesn’t get any easier than this to create a beautiful card set.  The stamped images are playful and elegant at the same time; the sentiment fonts are just perfect, and the sentiments are wonderful words to share with your special friends.

“Bautiful You” will be available on January 4th with the reveal of the new Occasions Catalog and the launch of Sale-A-Bration, Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale event of the year.
