Rustic Harvest Lovely Day

If you look closely at the Designer Series Paper layer in today’s card, you’ll see amazing art. This photo doesn’t do it justice, but the white dots almost sparkle. I created this card with the design term, “pattern repeat”, in mind. The maple and oak leaves repeat in the patterned paper and the card front elements.

When I first saw the Rustic Harvest Product Suite, this sentiment stamp and banner die spoke to me, not to mentioned the deep toned color palette. So, let’s get right to creating this simple and pretty card.

Today’s Card Pieces And Parts

  • The die cut circle is in my “pieces and parts” photo because I was going to use it as an element anchor. When I started putting the card together, I thought it covered too much of the patterned paper, so I left it out. I think it looks so much nicer without it. What’s your opinion?
  • I cut a standard Basic White card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″.
  • The large Basic Black layer is 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.
  • The smaller Basic White layer is 2 7/8″ x 3 7/8″.
  • The patterned paper layer is 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″.
  • Stamp the oak leaves with Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow and Merry Merlot ink and die cut them with the coordinating die.
  • Stamp the sentiment with Black Memento ink and die cut it with the coordinating die.
  • The Crumb Cake maple leaf is actually a die cut tag from the Leaf Label and Amber Gems Combo Pack. This is the embellishment set that is part of the Rustic Harvest Suite.
  • The Amber Gems have an amazing sparkle. It’s hard to see in the photo.
  • Assemble and adhere the card layers as shown.
  • Adhere the maple leaf to the center of the card front.
  • Attach two of the oak leaves with Dimensionals on the maple leaf as shown.
  • Attach the sentiment banner with Dimensionals as shown.
  • Adhere the third oak leaf with Dimensionals under the sentiment banner, as shown.
  • Add a few Amber Gems.

This is such an easy card to put together, and it looks so special. It’s a great way to make someone’s day!

So, think Fall – cut a few layers, add beautiful Fall leaves, and wish someone a lovely day!

… the only limitation is your imagination!

Snowman Magic Thanks

It’s been consistently hot and dry here in New Jersey, but I’m thinking “snow”.

Today, I’m showcasing the Snowman Magic Bundle. The Snowman Magic stamp set has lots of mini stamps that build a snowman in a snow scene. It’s great for the winter and holiday seasons. The Snowman Dies coordinate with the stamps and also feature a large frame die, bordered with snowflakes, that makes it easy to frame your snow scene. You can also use the large frame die alone to frame a sentiment or a pretty holiday image. Do you have a fun family photo you want to display or send to loved ones? Create a beautiful photo frame.

I kept this card “clean” with lots of white space and minimal elements. You can use this design to add ink to the edges of your snow drifts, or place a little sparkle in the Starry Sky.

Today’s Card Pieces And Parts

  • My card base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. scored at 4 1/4″.
  • I cut two layers 4″ x 5 1/4″. One is Starry Sky and the other is Basic White.
  • Using one of the larger dies from my Layering Circles Dies, I die cut a circle on the right side of the Basic White layer.
  • I cut two smaller Basic White layers 2 1/2″ x 4″, and hand cut swirls into the top of these layers to create my snow drifts.
  • On a smaller strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the snowman’s scarf and hat with Starry Sky ink.
  • On another strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the three trees with Mossy Meadow ink.
  • With one pass through my Mini Cut & Emboss Machine, I die cut the white tree, hat, scarf, snowman arms, and snowman.
  • Turn the large Basic White, circle die cut layer so that the circle is on the left.
  • Position the first snow drift layer on the back of the circle opening, checking to see if you like the way it appears on the front of the circle.
  • Attach it from the back side with Dimensionals.
  • Do the same with the second snow drift layer. Attach it from the back with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the face on the snowman with black ink.
  • Arrach the hat, scarf and die cut arms to the snowman.

Add The Elements

  • Attach the white die cut tree to the snowdrifts as shown.
  • Attach the snowman as shown.
  • Fussy cut the Mossy Meadow Trees and attach them to the snowdrift.
  • Stamp your sentiment with Starry Sky ink and adhere it to the card front.
  • Attach your snow scene to the Starry Sky layer, slightly offsetting the Starry Sky layer.
  • Attach the snow scent to your card base.

So, cut your layers, offset them on the card front and create something to share winter gratitude.

… the only limitation is your imagination!

Bewitched And Bewildered

?

I’m back in my craft room today and happy to be here. Yay!

I titled today’s post ” Bewitched And Bewildered”, and I am bewildered. You’ll see why. I’m showcasing both the Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper and the Bewitching stamp and punch Bundle. Both the patterned paper and stamp set are simple and easy to combine. The Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper is easy to combine with just about anything and for any occasion or holiday. So, let’s get right to my card.

Today’s Card Parts And Pieces

  • I cut the Basic Black card base 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″.
  • I added a Basic White card front layer that measures 4′ x 5 1/4″.
  • The Basic Black mat layer is 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
  • The patterned paper top layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″.
  • I stamped the witch’s hats with Tuxedo Black Memento and Gorgeous Grape ink.
  • I added some color to the hats with Parakeet Party and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.
  • The Blend coloring process is simple and quick.
  • The Witch’s Hat Punch made creating these hats quick as well.
  • I cut a strip of Basic White cardstock for the sentiment (which is from a retired stamp set called Spooky Cat).
  • Tailor your sentiment strip or label to the sentiment you choose.
  • The circle is the largest in the Stitched Shapes Dies. I die cut it in Daffodil Delight cardstock.

Put It All Together

  • Attach the layers to the card base front as shown.
  • Add the circle to the center of the card with the bottom of the circle about 1 1/2″ inches from the bottom of the card front.
  • Attach the white hat first as shown, then add the black hat. I attach both of these with glue.
  • I attached the polka dot hat with Dimensionals.
  • I punched the star embellishments with the Witch’s Hat Builder Punch.
  • The Basic White inside writing layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • I stamped the witch’s shoes with Parakeet Party ink and the stars with Daffodil Delight ink.

Are you wondering why I am so bewildered? I’ll tell you now. I couldn’t decide which patterned paper to use. Look at the possibilities below and decide which you like. Maybe a few Gorgeous Grape or Pumpkin Pie stars with this pattern.

For the choice below, I would add Basic White or Gorgeous Grape stars.

So, have some fun with the Bewitching Bundle. It’s great for making multiples. Cut some layers, punch a few witch’s hats and create fun Halloween greetings!

… the only limitation is your imagination!
