In a recent post, I talked about product coordination in the Stampin’ Up! product line. When I look through the catalogs, I pay attention to patterns and, of course, color combinations and look for any match I see. I always find one! Versatility is also an important factor when choosing what to purchase. Take a look at the sentiments, are they confined to one occasion or are they generic enough for any occasion. I always look at sentiment fonts and make that part of my decision.
The In Bloom Bundle in the January-June Mini Catalog coordinates beautifully with the FREE Sale-A-Bration Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper. In the two pictures below, you can see the almost identical floral matches in the stamped and die cut images in the first picture and the Designer Series Paper images in the second picture. They’re a great match.
If you purchase the In Blooms Bundle and an adhesive or package of Stampin’ Dimensionals, you will get the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper FREE and be able to create each and every Stampin’ Up! sample shown above and as many more as your imagination will allow for a very small investment. Something to think about, right?
In my opinion and as a little sidebar, the Annual Catalog is a main source of product. When Stampin’ Up! releases the Mini catalogs, they are supplements. The products in the mini catalogs are always current and on trend and help to keep interest moving for us paper crafters and card makers. Stampin’ Up!’s product base such as ink, card stock, embellishments, etc. is in each Annual Catalog which is also current and on trend. More on that in a future post.

So, take another look at your new catalogs and find a few coordinating products. I know you will. Create your wish list this way. It makes it easy and very budget friendly. I have my eyes on a few more that I’ll talk about in some of next week’s posts.

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend and spending some time crafting!
Today’s post is a very simple Christmas card I put together in just a few minutes. A few alternating Night of Navy and Whisper White layers gave me a good card base for my sentiment and stars. I cropped the star cluster in Whisper White using the die from the Stitched Stars Dies.
I thought I would cut a sentiment layer in Whisper White and stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy but quickly realized that wouldn’t work. My sentiment had to be white, so out came my embossing basket. I embossed the sentiment right onto the Night of Navy top layer. I used the Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder to get the clean white look for my sentiment. The beautiful sentiment is from the Dove of Hope stamp set which is retiring. It has a beautiful font and clean images.
How pretty are those stars. They are a Stampin’ Up! embellishment, but they have retired. I had them in my stash of embellishments and they looked so perfect, I had to use them. It’s hard to see how clear and gleaming they are from the picture. They do look like crystals.
So, cut a few cardstock layers, emboss a sentiment, add a few pretty stars and create something simple and quick.
