This card is for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge today. The colors chosen were Primrose Petals, Pool Party and Real Red. My inspiration came from the soft and pretty Challenge colors as well as the beautiful "love" sentiment.
I created a few versions of this card and really liked this one. I thought it was clean, simple, and special enough for a Valentine and the Pals Challenge.
Primrose Petals is the predominant color in my card. I carried it from back to front. The large scalloped center circle is Primrose Petals, the "love" sentiment is stamped with Primrose Petals, and the little heart on the front cropped heart is also Primrose Petals. (I love that little heart). Actually, I have a story about that little heart!
When I pulled the More Amore patterned paper to crop my little heart, I knew I had to be strategic in my framelit placement to get the little Primrose heart in exactly the spot I wanted it to appear on my cropped heart.
Yesterday, three of our Pals' projects were posted on our Gallery. I visited all three blogs to take a closer look at the projects, and in one of the postings, our Pals designer, Ann Schach, had a beautiful floral circle cut strategically from Designer Series Paper. Her quote was, "…let the paper work for you…".
Well, my little Primrose heart is working hard for me on this card. I think it adds the finishing touch to my little heart cluster. No embellishment needed there.
I used Real Red and Pool Party as accent colors, and Very Vanilla is my neutral and my card base color.
The "love" sentiment is just beautiful. It flows so gracefully right across the card. This was another reason I didn't use an embellishment…the banner can hold its own with that sentiment font.
The banner is also slightly raised in the center and attached to the edges of the card with glue dots. I wanted to support the sentiment flow with the curvy banner.
I used the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder to add a little dimension to my center circle. I chose Fancy Fan as it imitates the pattern in the cropped heart.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.
