Another Sunday and another Paper Players Challenge. Today it's a theme challenge; Sympathy.
This morning, when I checked The Paper Players site to get my "weekly assignment", I was surprised. Usually, I'm designing and creating cards with celebratory themes, so this took me back a little. I don't remember the last time I created a sympathy card.
My first thought was not to participate this week…I don't even own a stamp with a "Sympathy" sentiment… Then I read Nance Leedy's Challenge Introduction…
"Sympathy cards can be so difficult to create. If you're like me, you don't typically make them until you actually need one and that can be the most difficult time to convey your thoughts and feelings. Perhaps at no other time, does a handmade card convey as much love and support as during the loss of a loved one."
As I was creating this card, I felt a warm sense of peace. Thank you, Nance! And thank you, Paper Players…I'm glad I decided to play.
I created this card with soft lines and kept it simple for serenity.
Stampin' Up Supplies used: Card Stock: Very Vanilla; Stamp Sets: Secret Garden, God Bless (retired), In Full Bloom (retired); Ink: Soft Suede; Tools: Secret Garden Framelits, Labels Collection Framelits, Sponge Dauber, Paper Snips; Embellishment: Satin Brad from the Pop Up Posies Designer Kit.
This is SO BEAUTIFUL, Debbie. I am glad that you didn’t shy away from participating this week. In Full Bloom is one of my favorite sets of all-time, so I was happy to see it here. Thanks for playing along with The Paper Players this week.
