Happy Thursday everybody!
Today, I'm showcasing a card for another Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge. I've come to enjoy creating for sketch and color challenges. They really get my stampin' juices flowing and sometimes push me a little beyond my comfort zone, which is always a good thing.
Today, I was determined to use Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper which is in the Spring Catalog. I wanted to do some "masking" again, so I thought I would start with some Basic Gray. I originally thought I would get some Daffodil Delight in there, but the card design just wasn't going where I wanted with the Daffodil Delight.
Thank goodness for Stampin' Up!'s Color Coach. I looked up "Basic Gray", and there were two color combinations…the "Sweet Set", and the "Creative Combination". My card colors were right there…the "Creative Combination"…Basic Gray, Melon Mambo and Old Olive. Perfect with the Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP. Isn't it amazing how Stampin' Up! plans this. They've known for a while that their Basic Gray "creative combination" would work with the Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP.
My stamped and masked daisys are from the Secret Garden stamp set. I mentioned "masking" a few posts ago. It's a great little technique to give depth and movement to your stamped images. I did do a little "fussy" cutting here. That was to open up the flow of the flowers to the sentiment. My three daisys are also layered onto some Whisper White cardstock with dimensionals.
Masking is one of the techniques covered in Stampin' Up!'s new Online Classes. It's easy and fun. (For details on the downloadable classes, click on the link in my Navigation Bar above).
Stampin' Up! Supplies Used: Cardstock – Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP and Basic Gray Polka Dots from the Neutrals Collection DSP Stack. Stamp Sets – Secret Garden and Fabulous Phrases. Ink – Basic Gray, Melon Mambo and Old Olive. Tools – Paper Snips and Stampin' Dimensionals.
Clean and Simple and oh, so fabulous! Love the color combo and layered flowers.
Like this great clean and simple card. The colors work so well together – good choice for your delightful card.
I really like this card’s simplicity and spring-y look. When I looked again I realized your use of green and red together did not even hint of Christmas. I love this card. Thanks for the idea.
Sweet, simple and ver cool!
Your card is just wonderful, Debbie! I love it! Love the color combo and the flowers! Great clean and simple card!
Awesome, Deb! I love how you clustered the flowers into the lower left hand corner. It is such a cheery card!
Really beautiful use of the sketch! I love the flowers and how they coordinate with your paper strips. Thanks for sharing with us at Pals Paper Arts this week!
Definitely a Top Pick–such a happy card!
