Today is all about The Paper Players and another Sketch Challenge from Anne Marie. It's a neat sketch with lots of opportunity for displaying pretty patterned paper and embellishments.
After talking about color and layout for the past couple of days, it's interesting that I went more neutral today. Truly, I wanted to use Crisp Cantaloupe and the natural trim ribbon, so I worked it in with the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper.
- I wanted my card to have an easy, relaxed look. The polka dots, natural ribbon trim and Linen Thread give it just that.
- The warm Crisp Cantaloupe pairs well with my Very Vanilla card base and the Basic Black makes the Crisp Cantaloupe look even crispier!
- I only used two butterflies since they lay just above my sentiment. The butterflies coupled with the sentiment make a very balanced corner of three elements. Lots of "threes" in this card!
This is definitely a Clean and Simple since there's lots of open space and once I made my decisiion on which DSP to use, putting together the card went pretty quickly. I enjoy Sketch Challenges for this reason. Anne Marie came up with the design, so I didn't have to.
Thanks, Anne Marie, for a really neat sketch!
Tomorrow, I'll share some information on balancing color and layout so be sure to check in.

So pretty, Debbie! Great color choice with the Crisp Cantaloupe!
Absolutely love every aspect of this card. I believe this is my favorite I’ve seen with the natural trim ribbon. I SO love Crisp Cantaloupe with these neutrals!
Debbie, this is lovely! I never would have thought of this color combination but it is so soft and pretty. I love the layered butterflies and how the linen thread coordinates with the naturals ribbon. Beautiful, as always! So glad you joined us again at The Paper Players!
Debbie, your neutral backdrop really make the splashes of canteloupe pop! I love how you wrapped your butterflies in twine, too. Thanks for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players!
