Happy Saturday!
My inspiration for today’s card came from a piece of patterned paper. The Well Suited Designer Series Paper is a mix of simple and classic patterns in grays, blues and oranges. Those who read my posts know that I am a big fan of the blues and oranges paired together. Today’s colors are Poppy Parade and Night of Navy. Both are rich, deep tones in their respective color families.
The Well Suited Designer Series Paper is part of a primarily masculine suite but it’s so classic that I was easily able to create a feminine birthday card with it. How fun it was to put this card together!
I created a bit of a pattern repeat using the Pierced Bloom Dies and white resin dots. This card design is “clean”, without any embossing or a lot of embellishment. The pierced images and colors make it all happen along with the paper bow. The bow is one of the die cut images from the Pierced Bloom Dies.
The “Happy Birthday” sentiment stamped with Night of Navy ink is one of the sentiments from the Happy Thoughts stamp set. It has seven mixed font images including inside card sentiments. It’s a good set to take a look at and add to your stamp library.
So, take out a bunch of patterned paper and look it over quickly. Pull out the one that catches your eye and let that be the inspiration for your next project.
…the only limitation is your imagination!
This so so pretty. I love the colors.
Thank you, Monica. This pattern caught my eye and it went from there. This was fun.
Hi Debbie ~
Love this card! Simplistic, but beautiful. I must CASE it. I’ll have to swap out the flowers because I haven’t gotten that pretty perennials set yet. I always enjoy your blog
TFS, Jean ~
Hi Jean. Thank you! Please feel free to CASE. This was so much fun. I’m going to try it with some circles in place of the flowers. I think stars would look good too! It’s funny how my mind goes when I see something I like. Jean, you made my day. I am so happy you enjoy my blog. I really love creating cards and sharing inspiration. Thank you for taking the time to comment and let me know.
Best to you,
Debbie
I LOVE THIS! Such a bold and beautiful design and a great showcase of this paper and these dies. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
Thank you, my friend. I appreciate your comments so very much.
