The Biggest Wish For The Paper Players

Hello friends and happy Sunday!  The Paper Players Design Team is back with another challenge.  Our fabulous LeAnne is hosting a Theme Challenge called By The Numbers!  Anything goes as long as your design has a number.

I’m not sure why I chose a 30th birthday to celebrate but I’m thinking I would love to be able to celebrate that milestone again!

My card design is simple and versatile enough to swap out colors and change the look. Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Pacific Point are Stampin’ Up’s Primary Colors. Try this design with all neutrals, or pale pinks, blues and greens.  Our new In Colors would work beautifully!

Here’s a Quick and Easy How To:

  • Start with a Basic White A-2 tent fold card base 8.5″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. I used Thick Basic White cardstock.
  • With a 2 1/4″ circle punch, punch out four cardstock circles; three in your choice of colors and one Basic Black.
  • Cut a Basic White large sentiment layer 1 1/4″ x 3 1/3″
  • Cut a Basic Black layer 1 3/8″ x 3 1/8″.
  • Stamp “BIRTHDAY” with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto the Basic White Sentiment layer.
  • Attach the sentiment layer to the Basic Black small layer.
  • Arrange your circles and attach them to each other with multipurpose glue.
  • I first attached the Basic Black circle to the Daffodil Delight circle as shown.
  • The Real Red circle will be at the bottom of your circle cluster, attach the Pacific Point circle, then the Daffodil Delight and Basic Black cicle.
  • Attach the circle cluster to the card base with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the “happy” sentiment as shown.
  • Attach the BIRTHDAY sentiment layer as shown.
  • I die cut the numbers for this challenge using the Playful Alphabet Dies.
  • The embellishments are some Candy Dots from days back.  If you don’t have them, you can improvise according to your colors.

So, pull out your circle punch, add a big wishful sentiment and a great number and create something to link up with us over at the Paper Players.

…the only limitation is your imagination!

Peaceful Cabin For The Paper Players

Happy Sunday and welcome to the Paper Player’s Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!  Jaydee is our host this week.

It’s easy to play Tic-Tac-Toe.  Select a column or row down, across or diagonally and create your project according to the themes in your selection!  I chose the third column down on the challenge grid; a square card with a masculine look using a neutrals color palette.

My card is a 5″ square showcasing the Peaceful Cabin Bundle and the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper.  Along with the Challenge themes this week, I was inspired by the Peaceful Place Product Suite.

It was the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper that made my decision to use the Peaceful Cabin Bundle for today’s Challenge.  It’s one of Stampn’ Up!’s Specialty Designer Series Paper packs. Some of the designs are subtly embossed, some have silver sparkle built in and some are everyday patterns you can use for lots of projects. I left a large border around the stamped and die cut cabin scene to show off the beautiful patterned paper.  The DSP’s color palette is Basic Black, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.

The Peaceful Cabin Bundle includes the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and the Cabin Dies.  This is one Bundle you can’t split. For a truly peaceful cabin scene you absolutely need both.  It’s like having chocolate without peanut butter! You just can’t do that!!

Here’s how this card came together:

  • The card base is a finished 5″ square with a 4 7/8″ Basic Gray cardstock layer.
  • The patterned paper layer is a 4 3/4″ square.
  • I stamped the cabin image with Basic Gray ink onto a 3 3/4″ square of Thick Basic White cardstock.  The bottom of the stamped image is about an inch up from the bottom of the cardstock layer.
  • I used the matching die to cut the top of the cabin image.  The die fits across the top of the cabin perfectly.
  • I die cut the two pine trees with the excess Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment is stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • I added a few plain white Shimmer Sequins which are part of the Peaceful Place Suite.
  • I wanted a little embellishment, but I wanted it to be subtle.

This card came together quickly and easily. This truly is a “Peaceful Cabin”.

So, pick a column or row, down, across or diagonally and create something fun or peaceful, or both to link up with us over at the Paper Players.

Fun Diorama And Words of Cheer

Hello Friends!

Today’s card showcases the Words of Cheer Bundle.  The large dies are easy to cut and are a perfect focal point.  The stamp set has a nice assortment of mx and match holiday sentiments. This fun Bundle works great for quick cards and larger tags.

The Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper is a mix of classic holiday patterns and colors.  Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen work beautifully together. I love the touch of Soft Succulent.

This is the first time I’m using the Diorama Dies.  They’re a fun alternative to standard shapes or a card layer.

Below is another card I made using the Words of Cheer Bundle.  It’s a single layer card with the same dies and sentiment. Simply changing a color palette and adding a stamped image can change the entire look.  A similar design, but a very different look..  You can click here for the original post for the card below.

So, take a look at your favorite dies, add some classic holiday patterned paper, attach a little bling and create something fun and Happy!
