Today I have Warm Hugs for you. My inspiration for this card today is on page 8 in the August – December 2020 Mini Catalog. The large red and white flagged banner caught my eye and I thought it would look great with a Crumb Cake card stock card base, a few candy canes and a sparkling star.
I haven’t used the dot patterned Wrapped In Texture Embossing Folder until now. The embossed textured layer is a perfect background for the sentiment medallion and embellishments. I didn’t feel as though I had to add a mat layer to the horizontal banner which I usually do; that’s how deeply textured the embossing folder is.
The color palette today is warm and cozy, just like the Heartwarming Hugs Suite!
All of the elements for today’s project are from the Heartwarming Hugs Suite. The Glitter Star Ornament that I added to the Real Red Linen Trim bow has so much sparkle and is light as a feather! I tucked it under the bow with a mini glue dot and it hangs beautifully from the sentiment medallion.
- I began with a standard A-2 Crumb Cake card base.
- Add a large 3″ X 5″ flagged banner.
- My embossed horizontal banner is 4 1/4″ X 1 3/4″.
- The elements were stamped and cut using the stamps and dies from the Warm Hugs Bundle on page 9 in the Mini Catalog.
So, grab some patterned paper, crop a very large flagged banner, add some texture and a little sparkle and create something warm and cozy.
