I can’t tell you how many times I open up a Stampin’ Up! catalog. The Annual Catalog is a staple on my desk as are the Minis’. I refer to them constantly for both inspiration and to make decisions on what to purchase. The Warm & Toasty stamp set is in the August-December Mini Catalog on page 42. I saw this stamp set many times and always gave it a lot of attention. I finally purchased it and I’ve used it over and over. It’s retiring this year and will only be available for another few weeks.
The images are what I call “whimsical”. They are clean and happy, you can’t help falling in love with them. The sentiments are a mix of line weights and fonts and are just as cute as the images.
Here’s today’s card story.
- In yesterday’s post, I used a flower from Stampin’ Up!’s new Designer Series Paper called True Love. It’s part of the Love You Always Suite coming in the new January – June Mini Catalog.
- The patterned paper was still on my desk. I noticed the striped pattern on the reverse side of the floral and decided to use it.
- I knew it would make a perfect frame for my little polar bear and add that extra “something” to my all white card.
- The pattern is a diagonal stripe and I wanted a straight up and down stripe so I cut the paper into 6″ X 6″ squares.
- I turned one of the squares so the stripes were straight up and down and cropped the frame with my Stitched Rectangle Dies.
- To lift my frame, I added a few Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the frame and simply framed my original card.
- With the dotted Curvy Die, I cut the little snow hill and stamped the sentiment on the “hill”. My original sentiment was on the card below the polar bear.
- It’s amazing how a simple frame can change the look of a project.
- I shaded the area around the polar bear with Pool Party ink and a sponge dauber.
- The little white dots are from All The Trimmings Embellishments which are retiring and on sale.
So, look around your crafting space, find a scrap or two, add a little something more to a simple card and create something happy, warm and toasty!
…the only limitation is your imagination!
OMG I love this. So stinking cute.
Thank you, Monica! This was one of those cards that just evolved! The Warm & Toasty set is “so stinking cute”!
