We’re starting a new week at the Paper Players. Laurie is hosting with an adorable Clean and Simple Challenge featuring Gnomes or Fairies!
I didn’t have a Gnome, but I knew I had a Fairie to share. A while back, Stampin’ Up! featured a stamp set called New Wonders. I thought it was adorable, and loved the sentiments, so I added it to my collection. I’ve used it often and enjoyed creating this card today.
The large Fairie image is stamped with Smoky Slate ink onto a Basic White card layer. I used Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to color and shade the image. I kept the coloring soft and subtle and left a lot of white space. Every Fairie has to sparkle and mine is no exception. I added a few 2021-2023 In Color Jewels for some shine. When I looked more closely at the shape of the stamped image, I thought it would be fun to frame her with one of the Diorama Dies. I think this image was made for this Die!
The Inside Of My Card
As we grow through life, we meet up with changes that will open that new “blank page” for us to illustrate. I thought of that when I was creating this card. There’s always a “New Wonder” to be experienced and enjoyed. I hope all of your “New Wonders” sparkle and shine!
So, find an adorable Gnome or a sparkly Fairie and create something wonderful to link up with us over at the Paper Players.
…the only limitation is your imagination!

This little gal is as cute as can be! I love how you “outlined” her with that diecut….I could never figure what it in the world I would use that for, but it’s perfect here!
This is so beautiful! I love the way the die cut frames her perfectly! Your coloring is so pretty and I love the sentiment! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, My Friend!
What a sweetie! I love the subtle bling and how you used the diorama dies to frame her out! Have a wonderful week!
Love how you framed in your sweet fairy, Deb! Your soft water-coloring looks wonderful too! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
This is so lovely Debbie – the way the fairy is framed is a great way to accent her. I have this set somewhere in the depths of my retirement box, but struggled to use it creatively – so I’m off to search your blog now for more inspiration!!
Such a sweet little fairy, Debbie! What a great idea to use the Diorama die to frame her! You have colored her beautifully. The In Color jewels are the perfect accents, too. Have a wonderful weekend!
Awesome CAS layout Debbie! Love the soft colors and pops of sparkle. Super cute!
