It’s hard to say what inspired me to make this card. It sort of evolved from the wood plank background paper and an idea I had to add a country wreath. I did go back to my Cottage Wreath Bundle, but wanted to use a more current product. As you can see, my wreath turned from “country” to “modern”. I couldn’t resist adding the gingham checked ribbon, so I suppose my holiday wteath is what I would call modern rustic.
The stamped and fussy cut flowers from the Modern Garden stamp set remind me of poinsettias, keeping the seasonal theme I wanted.
I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. It’s always fun to mix producs and design themes.

Parts & Pieces
- I cut a Pebbled Path cardstock card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, and scored it at 4 1/4″.
- The wood plank patterned paper is 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.
- I die cut the wreath using the Deckled Circles Dies. The larger die is about 3 1/2″ in diameter and the smaller die is about 2 3/4″ in diameter.
- I placed the smaller die inside the larger die, secured them with low tack tape, and ran them through my die cutting machine.
- The flowers are stamped with Cherry Cobbler and Wild Wheat ink. I fussy cut them.
- I stamped the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink, and fussy cut them.
- I stamped my sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and fussy cut it, as well.
- As I recall, this is one of my first “fussy cutting” cards in quite a while. I had fun with it.
- I attached the wreath to the card front with Mini Dimensionals.
- The flowers are adhered with glue, the ribbon is attached with a glue dot, and the sentiment is attached with Mini Dimensionals.
I’ve come to enjoy decorating the inside of my cards. I stamped this one with one of the flowers and added a decorative strip of patterned paper.
