Here’s some weekend inspiration for you. I’ve been admiring this holly pattern from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper since I saw it. The holly die cut leaves were also on my radar since the Reindeer Fun Bundle made its appearance.
Thinking about how I was going to put these natural partners together, I came up with a simple layered card design that has just the right amount of texture with the helpof the Forever Plaid 3-D Embossing Folder. I hope you like it.
So, let’s make a card!
Parts & Pieces

- Cut a Garden Green cardstock card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and score it at 4 1/4″.
- The strped patterned paper layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
- I cut a second Garden Green mat layer 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.
- The holly DSP layer is 3 3/8″ x 4 3/8″.
- The Real Red mat layer is 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.
- I used the Forever Plaid 3-D Embossing Folder to emboss the Basic White top layer. The texture is amazing!
- The Basic White cardstock layer measures 2 3/8″ x 3 3/8″.
- The holly leaves are die cuts using one of the dies from the Reindeer Fun Bundle.
- I emossed the sentiment onto a 1″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Real Red cardstock.
- Remember the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels? I used lots of them to add some sparkle to my design.
Below is a card sketh you can download and print for your Card Sketch file. Have fun with it.

So, cut a few rectangle layers from your favotire patterned paper, include some awesome texture, a few elements, an embossed sentiment, and create something simple and pretty to share for the holidays!
… the only limitation is your imagination!
