New Video To Light The Year This Holiday Season

I am excited to showcase the new Light The Year Bundle. It’s in the September-December Mini Catalog on page 41. It’s sweet, simple, and full of possibilities. The mixed font sentiments in the Stamp Set are also sweet, simple and truly send a beautiful message!

The Light The Year Stamp Set is photopolymer. Looking closely at the lanterns, you can see the Stampin’ Up! Design Team did an outstanding job with the designof the lantern images. They have amazing dimension, as do the ribbon bows, candles and pine cones.

I chose to feture two lit lanterns in my element cluster. You can add a third, and maybe a few more pine cones. Creating a set of tags using just a single lantern would be pretty, as well. And, how about a few 3″ x 3″ note cards? This would make a beautiful little gift. There are so many possibilities for the elements in the Light The Year Bundle. I will be showcasing more projects in future posts.

I put together a Video Tutorial to show you how quick and easy it is to put this element cluster togeher. Once you get to know the Bundle, you can create beautiful projects using the lanterns as your focal point. Have fun with color, as well. You can go in so many different directions with these lanterns. Although, this is a holiday card, I think an Autumn themed lantern would be beautiful, as well.

So, let’s make a card!

  • I cut a Basic Beige cardstock card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, and scored it at 4 1/4″ on the long side.
  • The Country Woods DSP top layer for the card front is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
  • I stamped the lanterns and candles with Pebbled Path ink.
  • The ribbon bows are stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink, and the pine boughs are stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.
  • I used a little bit of Lemon Lolly ink and a Sponge Dauber to lightly brish the ink to the inside of the lanterns.
  • The pine cones are two-step stamping. The linear stamp is stamped with Early Espresso ink and the layering stamp is stamped with Crumb Cake ink.
  • The filler pieces are die cut using Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • I stamped the sentiment with Pebbled Path ink directly to the DSP card front top layer.

The inside of the cad is stamped with one of the sentiments from the Stamp Set. For a little interest, I added a stamped pine bough.

The Video Tutorial below shows details to put this card together. There’s also a Project Sheet Tutorial you can download.

So, cut your card base, add a top layer of patterned paper, stamp the lanterns, boughs, and pine cones, and create a pretty element cluster. Send it off to family and friends for the holidays.

All Creatures Great And Small – The September Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is “All Creatures Great and Small.” We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I love to watch deer. They’re peaceful, beautiful and graceful creatures.

To honor the topic of our Hop today, I chose to showcase the Reindeer Fun Bundle. It’s part of the Reindeer Days Suite in the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog.

The beautiful doe and her fawn are the focal point of my Clean And Simple card design. I die cut them directly from the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper using the coordinating die. When Stampin’ Up! gives us that option, it makes creating quick and easy.

I originally wanted to use Granny Apple Green for the background. When I put the die cut deer against the Granny Apple Green cardstock, it was too harsh for the serenity of the card. Soft Sea Foam cardstock turned out to be a much better choice. It also more closely matches the die cut area around the deer. I paired Soft Seafoam with Pretty In Pink and Melon Mambo. This is a color combination I probably wouldn’t have chosen. The reindeer ears were my inspiration.

So, let’s make a Clean And Simple card!

  • I cut a Thick Basic White cardstock card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored it at 5 1/2″.
  • The Soft Sea Foam cardstock layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • The die cut Thick Basic White cardstock top layer is 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.
  • I die cut the doe and fawm from the DSP. They’re attached to the Soft Sea Foam layer with Dimensionals. There’s about 1 3/4″ from the bottom of the Soft Sea Foam layer to the bottom of the reindeers’ hooves.
  • I used the large circle die to die cut the “window” around the doe and fawn.
  • The bottom of the circle die is about 1 7/8″ from the bottom of the Basic White layer and centered.
  • The Basic White die cut layer is attached to the Soft Sea Foam layer with Dimensionals.
  • I attached both layers to the front of the card base.
  • I stamped the bells with Pretty In Pink ink. The bell die in the Reindeer Fun Dies cuts the bells individually. I die cut three bells using a small piece of Brushed Gold cardstock I had in my stash.
  • The die cut bells are glued over the stamped bells. I attached them to the card front with glue, as shown.
  • I added two die cut ribbon bows to the bells. One is Pretty In Pink and the other is Melon Mambo.
  • To soften the Melon Mambo, I brushed the bow lightly with a Sponge Dauber and Craft White ink.
  • The holly leaves are die cuts from the dies. I glued them to the card front, as shown.
  • I stamped the sentiment with Gray Granite ink. (Again, keeping the color palette soft). I fussy cut the sentiment.
  • I embellished the holly with one of the Regal Foiled Dots.

I stamped the inside of the card with images from the Reindeer Fun Stamp Set.

My card is only one sample of what you can do with the Reindeer Days Suite. Take a look at it on pages 26 and 27 in the Mini Catalog. Once again, the product coordination is amazing.

So, die cut an adorable doe and her fawn, pop it on a cardstock layer, cover it with a die cut “window”, add a little gold, and create a pretty card to share with someone special.

There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. We hope you will come back for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be “Orange Theory.”

Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Thank you for stopping by.

A Parade of Festive Inspiration

You can have it now! I designed these cards using the “A Little Bit Festive” 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s on page 18 in the Mini Catalog. There are six sheets of patterned paper: One each of three double sided, classic holiday designs, and one each of three single die-cut designs. The die cut designs include gold foil accents.

My cards are showcasing the die cut pieces from the Paper Pack, including three of the frame die cuts. Each of my card designs is encircled by one of the frames in the die cuts.

The die cut pieces are adorable. These cards are quick and easy. It was fun to pick the pieces I wanted to use, and plan how to use them together.

So, without any more talking, let’s make some cards!

  • The ribbon frame, pine bough, holly, presents and teddy bear are die cuts from the Desitner Series Paper.
  • I cut a Thick Basic White cardstock card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, and scored it at 4 1/4″.
  • Behind the presents and teddy bear is a piece of gold and white Designer Series Paper. It’s cut 3 3/4″ x 5″. I attached it to the red ribbon die cut frame with Dimensionals. (The gold and white DSP is part of the Regal Winter Suite in the new Mini Catalog),
  • I attached the pine bough and holly to the corner of the ribbon frame with glue. The presents are also attached with glue, and the teddy bear is attached with Dimensionals.
  • I stamped the sentiment with Garden Green ink. It’s a small “Merry Christmas” stamp from the retired Framed And Festive Stamp Set. (I liked the size for this design).
  • I added a gold dot from the Blooming Pearls embellishments.
  • The leaf frame and stockings are die cuts from the Designer Series Paper.
  • I cut a Thick Basic White cardstock card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
  • The Real Red cardstock layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • I attached the leaf frame to the Real Red layer with Dimensionals.
  • I attached the pine garland and christmas stockings to the card front with Dimensionals.
  • The sentiment is stamped with Garden Green ink. It’s from the new Reindeer Fun Stamp Set. I love the classic font.
  • To embellish, I added lots of red sequins from the now retired Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins.
  • The holiday lights frame and candy canes are die cuts from the Designer Series Paper.
  • I cut a Real Red cardstock card base 4 1/4″ x 11″, and scored it at 5 1/2″.
  • The Garden Green cardstock mat layer is 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.
  • I attached the frame to the Garden Green layer with glue.
  • In the center of the card, under the candy canes is the center of the holiday lights frame. I liked the edge of this piece. I inked it with my Sponge Dauber and Garden Green ink.
  • The center white layer is attached with Dimensionals and off-set.
  • The candy canes are also attached with Dimensionals, and I inked the edges lightly with Garden Green ink.
  • The Garden Green cardstock strip is 5/8″ x 3 3/4″.
  • Thr Real Red cardstock strip is 7/8″ x 3 1/4″.
  • The white sentiment strip is 3/4″ x 3″.
  • Glue the cardstock strips as shown, attach the sentiment strip.
  • I flagged the ends of the Real Red and white strips with my Paper Snips.

So, after reading the “how to’s” for these three cards, you can see how quick and easy they are to put them together. I have a lot of die cuts to use for another inspiration day.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Product Premier for “A Little Bit Festive” Designer Series Paper as much as I enjoyed putting the cards together. Which one is your favorite?

So, grab the “A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper”, punch out the die cut pieces, cut some card bases, get out your Dimensionals, and have fun designing your unique holiday cards, and tgs, too!

A Little Bit Of Festive Sneak Peek

It’s fun to share another Sneak Peek of one of the upcoming products at the top of my list. My card is only a small sample of what you can create with this new DSP.

I’m featuring the Little Bit Of Festive Specialty 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper Pack. The paper pack includes six sheets of patterned paper: One each of three double sided, classic holiday designs, and one each of three single die-cut designs. The die cut designs include gold foil accents. It’s on page 18 in the catalog. The Little Bit of Festive Designer Series Paper will be available to customers on September 4th.

So, let’s talk about this card.

  • When I opened this DSP pack, I knew I would have to use the Night of Navy gingham patterned paper, and the red truck die cut image together. I initially wasn’t sure how I was going to do it, but slowly, my card design evolved.
  • I cut a Night of Navy cardstock card base 11″ x 4 1/4″ and scored it at 5 1/2″.
  • I adhered a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ layer of Basic White cardstock to the card front.
  • The gingham patterned paper layer is 3 /4″ x 5″.
  • The circle is die cut with one of the Deckled Edge Circle Dies. It measures about 2 3/4″ in diameter.
  • The red truck and snow-capped trees are die cuts from the DSP.
  • I attached the pine tree layer to the bottom left corner of the gingham patterned paper using Dimensionals.
  • The truch is also attached using dimensionals.
  • The circle and third tree are glued to the card front.

My design came to life by placing the pieces I wanted to use onto the card front until I liked the placement. I matched the sentiment, from the Sophisticated Sled Stamp Set, to the mood of the card. The inside sentiment is also from the Sophisticated Sled Stamp Set.

Along with plenty of die-cut Holiday-themed images, there is a sheet of 12″ x 12″ DSP that has six cut larger layering pieces. You can create six Holiday cards quickly and easily with these layers and a sentiment.

This is a Paper Pack designed to help you create all sorts of Holiday projects. It’s a perfect starter for your Holiday paper crafting. If you’re just getting started with paper crafgting, “A Little Bit Festive Specialty DSP” is perfect for you.

So, be A Little Bit Festive, take a look at this Specialty Paper Pack, think about what you can create with it, and enjoy some paper crafting fun.
