A Perfectly Paired Element Cluster

It’s official! The Painterly Pears Suite Collection is available in the Online Exclusives. It’s beautiful!

From the delicately shaded pear images and blossoms in the Designer Series Paper, to the shimmery ribbon, this Suite is certain to give you lots of fun creative time.

I designed this card to include a sampling of products in the Suite. The Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper is my color inspiration – Petal Pink and Old Olive. I decided to substitute Darling Duckling with Lemon Lolly.

So, let’s make a card!

  • The Old Olive cardstock card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″.
  • The Basic White mat layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″, and the patterned paper top layer is 3 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.
  • I used the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch to act as a grounding layer for the element cluster.
  • I die cut the pears directly from the Designer Series Paper.
  • The grid-like trellis, leaf vine, flowers, and sentiment layer are also die cuts using the Perfectly Pears Dies.
  • The sentiment is an image from the Perfectly Pears Stamp Set.
  • My ribbon embellishment is the Mossy Meadow and Gold Trim. I used about 7″ to form a bow and attached is under the circle layer.

So, take out your favotire pack of Designer Series Paper, cut a few layers, create an element cluster, and make a beautiful card to share with someone special.

A New PDF Tutorial With Beautiful Gallery

The Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper is stunning! While stepping into this old world art gallery, my inspiration soared, and yours will, as well. Take a look at all of the beautiful designs here.

My card is a simple design that focuses on the patterned paper.

I attached a patterned paper layer to the entire card front. As a grounding layer for the rectangle focal point, I cut strips from the pattern, and added a slice of Cloud Cover cardstock for a bit of dimension. I wasn’t sure how it would all come together, but once I strategically cut the focal point layer, I was happy with the result.

The soft tones in the color combination were inspired, of course, by the DPS. This is a beautiful combination – Cloud Cover and Pecan Pie, with Basic Beige as the Neutral. Warm and soothing, right?

So, let’s make a card!

  • The Basic Beige card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″.
  • The patterned paper card front layer is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
  • Each of the patterned paper strips is 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, and the Cloud Cover cardstock layer under each strip is 1/4″ x 4 1/4″.
  • NOTE: I cut my strips longer, attached them to the card front and trimmed from the back.
  • I stragegically cut the focal point patterned paper layer. It measures 2″ x 3 3/4″.
  • The Could Cover cardstock mat layer is 2 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.
  • I stamped the sentiment using Pecal Pie ink and die cut it using the circle die from the Happy Hibiscus Dies.

Give this card design a whirl, and I would love to hear from you.

Until next time, remember …

Remember The Happy Moment

Here’s some weekend inspiration for you. You might be asking about the Designer Series Paper I used today. It’s not in the new Annual Catalog, but in the Online Exclusives, and it’s not a Designer Series Paper pack. It’s one of the Memories And More Card Packs.

The Remember The Moment Memories And More Card Pack has so many beautiful images, I couldn’t help myself. I had to cut into it and make a card. By the way, I love this color combination. It’s one I probably wouldn’t have thought to use.

The Memories & More Card Packs include two card sizes – 3″ x4″ and 4″ x 6″. You can see, I used two 3″ x 4″ cards, and one 4″ x 6″ card. I trimmed down the 4″ x 6″ card to be able to center the pattern on the card front.

So, let’s make a card!

  • The Lost Lagoon cardstock card base is 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″.
  • I cut three Basic White cardstock mat layers: The large layer is 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, and the two smaller layers are 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″.
  • The pre-cut sentiment is from the Saying Something Mix And Match Epphemera Pack.
  • If you look at the larger card in the photo above, the pattern is symmetrical. To keep the symmetry in the design, I trimmed off 3/8″ from each side (holding the card horizontally). This gave me a perfectly sized layer for the card front and mat.
  • I used an older punch I had to punch out the Basic White leaf elements and tucked them under the sentiment layer.
  • The little strip of Lost Lagoon cardstock under the sentiment layer helps to ground the sentiment and makes it pop a little more.

Assembling this card is quick and easy. Take a look at some of the Memories And More Card Packs, and let your imagination take over. I know you’ll have fun with them.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any questions, you can reach out to me.

New 2025 Color Inspiration

I thought it would be fun to celebrate Stampin’ Up!’s new 2025 – 2027 In Colors. The new color palette is a unique blend of bold, bright, and a little dusty! In my color inspiration card above, I paired the five new In Colors with Lemon Lime Twist.

I stamped the colors using the flowers from the Happy Hibuscus Stamp Set. By design, I chose large images and created a cluster, grounded by a strip of Strawberry Slush cardstock.

A beautiful piece of Secret Sea striped Designer Series Paper is a great background for the colorful flower cluster.

Here are the new 2025 In Colors:

Below is some color inspiration featuring the new In Colors:

I see a common denominator in my color matching selections, do you? Not realizing what coolors I chose to match, my favorite new In Color appears to be Secret Sea. It’s a very dark cool blue. It’s stunning! What’s your favorite new In Color?

Clean And Simple Thank You

I needed a few quick and easy thank you cards, and it’s time I took a little break from the wonderful colors of Christmas, so I designed this Clean And Simple card with the help of the Regal Flora Bundle.

I’m sure most of you know, Clean And Simple cards have their unique spot in our paper crafting world. “CAS” cards have lots of white space, few layers, and little or no embellishments.

Inspired by one of the patterns in the Regal Winter Designer Series Paper, I chose to use Night of Navy and Blackberry Bliss for my color combination. I stampes the top and bottom card front elements with Night of Navy ink and die cut them with the matching die.

The center element isn’t stamped. I used the brush end of my Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy Stamin’ Write Markers to add the ink directly to the stamp, then stamped the image to my cardstock. If you look clopsely, you can see both colors on the image.

I wanted to keep this color palette simple, but you could duplicate this design (which I will definitely do), using a brighter, or more subtle color palette. It would also be fun to give it a Fall theme with oranges, reds, and maybe a little touch of Wild Wheat!

You can experiment with some of the color combinations below. I think a few of these cards in a pretty hand made box, tied with a soft ribbon, would be a beautiful gift.

Below is my color palette.

Below are softer coolor combinations.

And, here are a few bright color combinations.

Don’t forget, today is the last day for the Seasonal Sale. All of the ink pads, cardstock, and markers are on sale. Pick your favorite color palette and take advantage of the discounted prices.

So, find three pretty stamps with coordinating dies, attach them to your card front with Dimensionals, add a sentiment, and create something to share gratitude.
